ORANGE JUICE

I think we've been buying frozen orange juice since it was first sold. So it was with some concern that we learned frozen orange juice was to be taken off the market. I guess the supply lasted about 6 months.

So the juice became unavailable at my usual grocery store. Walmart always had frozen orange juice for  better price.

So I'll  try Walmart. I looked in the usual place for frozen juice but found nothing. No frozen juice of any kind. It was just gone.

There was a fellow filling shelves so I thought I'd ask him if there was any frozen orange juice. Now this fellow is quite handicapped. He went up and down the aisle. He knew what he was looking for  and he came back to me and said there was no more frozen orange juice.

Then he got  big twinkle in his eye and said you could take home some orange juice and freeze it.

He knew his comment was a zinger and we both had a good laugh. Other customers looked around to see what we were laughing about.

  1. Oh I need to look and see whether our supermarkets still have frozen OJ. I know we still have the one already prepared in large and small jugs. I'm guessing there will be a lot more items unavailable as time goes by.

  5. We can still buy store branded frozen orange juice though Coca Cola's Minute Maid is no longer around. I don't drink it but I do a breakfast pancake fundraiser four times a year and we usually serve frozen orange juice there because it is a lot cheaper than the rest.

  8. Frozen juice gone? A shocking tale,
Yet wisdom blooms in aisle retail!
Just freeze it fresh! What a clever spin,
Who knew the answer lay within?

  9. That IS a funny comment. People don't seem to want orange juice concentrate these days -- they want it pre-mixed in a carton. I always drank frozen growing up and it's fine with me, but we don't buy much orange juice here.

  11. We don't drink minute maid. Do you know if all frozen concentrates are being discontinued? I tried to look it up but it just kept circling back to the minute made brand

  17. Dear Red ,maybe our big stores in big cities have frozen juice but for me it’s new thing to learn. We extract orange or other fruit juice at home and I noticed that orange juice if is not consumed right away it gets bitter
Now I am wondering if frozen juice sustain its taste and sweetness in long run
