Into Every Life a Little Snow Must Fall.
We received about 8 cm (3 in.) of snow yesterday. It was beautiful snow as it came down heavily in the evening so in the street lights made it look as if the sky was full of snow. The snow was light and dry. I shoveled about 9 :00 PM in case we got more later on.
This morning the trees were laden with snow. Now if I'd been out half an hour earlier there would have been more snow on the trees. I also found out that I have to play with the camera so that the snow on the tree branches would show up better. I thought the brilliant sunshine would give me brilliant snow pictures. Not that easy!

Like they say, "There's snow business like snow business..."!! The pictures are great. Way down here we don't get snow very often, so thanks for sharing! I got to enjoy yours and didn't have to lift a shovel. But to be honest, I've NEVER seen enough snow that we had to shovel.

DeleteRed the snow in the trees is so pretty, you captured it very well. I love seeing winter from this perspective, I don't have to put on two layers to go out and shovel. Mind you Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without snow, that's the one time of year I NEED snow in my life.

DeleteI enjoyed it thoroughly my friend, and even more so because it was there and not here. It is blue skies and higher than normal temperatures over here, so looking at your splendid snow photographs is even more enjoyable.

DeleteThey are lovely pictures, Red. I also like the stunning blue sky behind them. You made me think of the fact that only us Americans are still using inches and feet, everybody else is so much more modern! :-)
ReplyDeleteThe blue sky and bright sunshine were the two things that took me out. I didn't get what I wanted and have some learning to do. I wouldn't really call the metric modern although it was devised after the English system. The metric system was based on science rather than the English system which was based on things that varied.

Rock hard snow isn't nice or "pretty." I know that spring for me is still quite a time off. I mustn't get excited about spring!

DeleteLovely shots, Red. Every time we get a bit of a snowfall (which hasn't been more than about 2cm at a time) it melts very shortly afterward. This has been the winter that never was.
ReplyDeletePS... I'll ask about what so many are struggling with the last few days. Would you consider disabling word verification on your blog? It's become a much more difficult endeavor to read it and get it right recently. Darn Blogger! It would make commenting on your blog much easier. Just a thought. :)

ReplyDeleteGood to know that the damn verification business is going. So hard to tell the diffence between an "i" and Capital "I", a one the number and an l - the letter "l" that is.

This summer in Brisbane has been really weird - only two "sauna" type nights, but summer is soon over, next month is Autumn.
Just heaps of darn rain - you really can watch the grass grow.
