The only thing green is the spruce trees and they are mostly black |
So here there's not one tiny piece of green grass. I'm still living in a white world.
It was a dull overcast day so the photos are rather dull.
Today out temperature got up to plus 8 C (48 F). It hasn't been above 0 C for about 6 weeks. Some of those weeks were brutally cold. We had many over night temperatures below minus 30 C (minus 22 F).
The sun rose at 7:05 this morning and set at 6:27 tonight. And I'll be setting my clock ahead before I go to bed.
So I even though I might envy those with green grass I hope you enjoy it. Our time for green grass is coming very quickly.
hooray for some warmth getting to you! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks. I'll take all I can get.
DeleteIt won't be long now, Red. I'm sure of it! :-)O
ReplyDeleteWe've still got some time top go so I have to be patient.
DeleteThe air must be very clean as the snow still looks good.
ReplyDeleteWe've had several 1 - 2 cms of snow a few times recently so you're looking at new snow.
DeleteWell at least after the snow disappears you will have green grass. Here in Qld - 80% is drought stricken - brown.
ReplyDeleteIt is catastrophic for the rural people.
We will have green grass after the snow goes but not right away.
DeleteHope the white world moves away fast.
ReplyDeleteIt will take it's own sweet time.
DeleteIt sounds like the thaw is finally on the way!
ReplyDeleteIt's pretty nice. We had about 6 weeks of brutally cold weather.
DeleteI almost don't dare to tell you but we have 18C today here!
ReplyDelete18 must be nice!
DeleteStill a little wintry here as well in NE Montana. It was melting like crazy yesterday, though. Today it's supposed to get up to 59. Yay....!!
ReplyDeleteYes and the forecast is for mild for about 7 more days.
DeleteTough!! This winter has been way too long from most of North America. I wish you green!
ReplyDeleteThank you. It's been long and touch. I must be getting old!
DeleteThanks for sending the warmer weather our way! It is supposed to be 40 degrees today that is 40F!! I am excited! :)
ReplyDeleteI knew it would get there!
DeleteThe green will be back with a vengeance rather soon my friend :) better late than never.
ReplyDeleteWe still have some time to go before we get green grass. I will need some patience.
DeleteMy world looks exactly the same here! It seems like it'll be awhile before spring finds us.
ReplyDeleteAt least we know it's on the way.
DeleteStill brown around here
ReplyDeleteI know you are far ahead of me!
DeleteIt must have seemed like you were having a heat wave Red! Looks like a lot of shoveling went on.
ReplyDeleteNot a heat wave but it was nice. Fortunately a neighbor did the worst of my snow with his snow blower.
DeleteMy world too.
ReplyDeleteHad two days nice if you want to call nice. Sun out but freezing. So Tuesday is nice this week and then three more days snow again up to Sat..
Maybe I am really living in Alaska. I am senile or is it Senior moments. I get my Spring clothes to cupboard and then winter to the back closet. Oh My..
I'm sure we'll get a cold snap too and have to find the winter clothes.
DeleteI think its safe to say that some snow mounds will be around for some time. With all the snow, the water table will be replenished.
ReplyDeleteYes, shady spots and the bush will have snow for a while.
DeleteI think we've all had enough of winter.
ReplyDeleteYes, we've had enough but you cheated and went to Thailand. Not fair.
DeleteIt will disappear on it's own terms.
ReplyDeleteWe have about 7 days in the forecast of daytime highs above freezing,
ReplyDeleteYour green will show up soon. I shouldn't be bragging about our green and buttercups today. We all know how fast it can change!
ReplyDeleteCheri
As winters go, this one is pretty steadfast in keeping us covered in that white stuff. I'm looking forward to seeing some green but I suspect it will still be a while around here.
ReplyDeleteHope it comes soon - I can assure you that Spring is great when it arrives.
ReplyDeleteWe got more snow last night! This has been QUITE the winter. The DST has me all messed up this morning. Hoping to see some green soon, but a lot of snow will have to melt first. Glad you are getting some warmer weather!
