I have a lily that is fairly close to the original Western wood lily (tiger lily) (Lilium philadelphicum). It's my favorite flower on my yard. Usually they have a single flower, sometimes two and rarely three. This year I had one that had seven flowers on the one plant. So here goes my bragging.

Wow, Red, that is one impressive flower! :-)
ReplyDeleteIt certainly caught my attention!
DeleteThat is one spectacular Lily, you must have a green thumb:)
ReplyDeleteI don't consider myself a green thumb but I do like gardening.
DeleteBeautiful!! Go ahead and brag!
ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous and huge! Congratulations, Red!
ReplyDeleteThios is in no way my doings. the plant just did it's own thing
DeleteBragging rights for sure - Red does have a green thumb. Lovely and most impressive.
ReplyDeleteNo green thumb here. the plants just do their own thing.
DeleteWow, that looks very good, you must have "green fingers" as we say here.
ReplyDeleteI did water this plant but that's all.
DeleteAll the hybrids came from wild flowers and I agree that the wild ones are far more interesting, but your lilies are stupendous.
ReplyDeleteThanks. I had moved these to a new location three years ago and the obviously like it.
DeleteNice lilies, I was just out taking some pics of mine in the sunlight. I like them all, but native are the best.People are shocked when they come to my home and I have a veggie garden and extensive flower garden. Have mostly prairie all around me, but it is fun to dabble. Note my dogs are named Lily and Daisy.
ReplyDeleteGreat dog names!
Deletethey sure are pretty! i love wildflowers most, too. :)
ReplyDeleteThis was a surprise. All I did was water.
DeleteI like your lilies Red. Mine are up today. Mine took two years to grow from two Easters ago. So I am happy.
ReplyDeleteWild flowers are the best. You never have to care for them with water. The good Lord does.
These were moved three years ago so they obviously liked the move.
DeleteWhat beauties!
ReplyDeleteThanks.
DeleteI love it!
ReplyDeleteDo you have lily bugs? Mine are decimating my lilies. I use Neem oil on them, when I remember!
Bugs didn't bother these. I've never heard of lily bugs.
DeleteBeautiful flowers. My favorite is the blue iris.
ReplyDeleteThe blue iris are right behind these but they're finished blooming.
DeleteI love the Day Lilies. I just noticed that I have some yellow ones popping open.
ReplyDeleteLilies are a very common and well like flower.
DeleteIt is a beautiful flower Red, great shots!
ReplyDeleteYou should brag...it's very beautiful! Lilies are my favourite flowers in the garden. Always have been.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
ReplyDeleteHi Red, Your Lili Bonanza is colorful. Yes, those are some beauties you have there. Coincidentally I just happened to see some lilies on my walk yesterday and snapped a couple of pics to share in a future post. I would have to agree with Martha ... they are some of my favorites. Thanks for that comment about the containers, railroads, and ships. Yes, I do wonder how many train loads they can get on one of those ships.
