For those of you who follow me , you will know that from time to time I find a special day that is odd , weird or highly commercial. For some reason the day has been sanctioned as suitable for celebration.
So a few days ago I saw a post on face book about National Susan Day. This really caught my attention so off I went to see what Mr google would say. Mr Google said nothing. I changed my search words. Nothing! I went back the the Face book post.
Then I thought well, is there a Keith Day. No such luck but you find all the "Keith Days" in the world.
This puzzled me.
I looked at the Face book post again. It looked like a chain letter. If your name was Susan ,you were supposed to pass this on to someone named Susan.
Well, I suppose it was a neat idea for all the people named Susan to celebrate their name and have some fun..
Now when I see my friend Susan, I'll have to ask her what's going on.
All kinds of strange things we stumble upon on the internet!
ReplyDelete...and some of it's fun.
DeleteI avoid all memes on FB. I actually think they are ways to collect data about you.
ReplyDeleteWell, I never thought about the collection of data. they certainly collect data in other ways.
DeleteNo special day for me, darn.
ReplyDeleteWell, start one!
DeleteStrangely, some people will come up with any possible excuse to send a chain letter!
ReplyDeleteI stay away from chain letters . They can threaten me with all kinds of evil but the chain letter will not get by me.
DeleteI never heard of a day celebrating the name of a person just for the heck of it. Leave it to you to find it, though, Red! I can't resist: it's a Red-letter Day! :-)
ReplyDeleteRed-letter day! Good one!
DeleteI needed a giggle today! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteIt is pretty simple!
DeleteQuite peculiar, Red!
ReplyDeleteThere's something new everyday!
DeleteThere is a "day" for the strangest things, so why not Susan!
ReplyDeleteMakes sense to me!
DeleteInteresting, I haven't seen a chain letter in a very long time. A fun exercise for some people. :)
ReplyDeleteThere are chains on facebook.
DeleteMy wife's name is Susan. Surprised she didn't know about this.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the chain didn't get that far. I guess it didn't go viral.
DeleteYes I received a happy Larry day a week ago. I was not sure if I was to be happy that day just because or if it were required. I have known a lot of Larry's in my life but most of them are now gone.
ReplyDeleteSo this may be more common than we think.
DeleteA Keith Day would involved lots of Keiths gathering to enjoy Keith things together... like reading a newspaper, polishing shoes and eating bowls of muesli. I guess that Keiths do other things too but as I am not a Keith I am not sure what else should be added to the list. Ballet dancing?
ReplyDeleteI think Keith means strong so we are out doing "big" things! No ballet for these guys.
DeleteI wonder if there is a Denise Day :)
ReplyDeleteI guess you'll just have to make a Denise day.
DeleteYour title made me think that it's enough for me just to figure out what day of the week it is! :-)
ReplyDeleteOh I know this feeling. It happens quite often around here.
DeleteHi Red, The comments and your replies are a highlight of Hiawatha House! Now today I'm too late to get in on the replies, but I have to say my favorite above is DJan's suggestion for Red Letter Day! Gotta love that one! :-) As always, thank you for sharing, and thank you for your kind words on my blog! Wishing you a great week ahead!
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't get any better than two old teachers talking.
DeleteI think if it adds to peoples' fun in a world that can be pretty harsh, why not, eh? :)
ReplyDeleteThe susan letter would be fun.
DeleteSeriously? National Susan Day? It must be for Canada perhaps? I think August 26 is National Dog Day. October 29th is National Cat Day. My favorite is October 28th, National Chocolate Day. I wonder how many National Days there are and who creates them.
ReplyDeleteThat is pretty strange. The only Susan Day I know of, is the one from the old television show "The Partridge Family." Now that I think about it, I think hers is spelled Dey. Oh well...
