WHAT I DID FOR FATHER'S DAY

For many, Father's Day has a tradition of a special breakfast, lunch or dinner. They are good times and traditional celebrations.  It's been interesting reading blogs and seeing what people did to celebrate Father's Day.

Well, what did I do. I'm not big on going out to restaurants to celebrate. There are many more things I would rather do. Both my kids live very far away. I got a phone call from one and an email from the other. The phone call came just a few minutes before I was leaving.

Yes, I was going out to one of the local parks that has natural habitat. I was actually going to one of the larger sanctuaries. Yes, this is what I would rather do. Surprise! Surprise! The Micro manager came with me. The Micro manager has not been feeling well at all so I as surprised she came.

So in two hours I got my fix of flowers birds and critters. I didn't get a photo of a Richardson's ground squirrel (gopher) . It would have been easy but they entertained me and I forgot about a photo.

  1. Now that appeals to me a lot, Red: going out into the wilderness and enjoying birds and flowers and all, rather than eating in a restaurant. Happy Father's Day indeed! :-)

  3. Oh, Lady Slippers!
I think by the time we get to be the olders on Mother's Day and Father's Day, we should do what we want to do. I'm glad you did.

    1. Hey the elderly should be able to choose what they like! somehow it doesn't seem to happen that much. I guess we have to live with others.

  4. I did about the same thing. We have 5 adult kids, and all of them were out of town. I have to admit it was nice just doing what I wanted, instead of doing a big group thing at a restaurant. Besides, I'm most at home when out in nature.

  13. Nice photos and a great way to spend the day! I'm sorry the Micro Manager has been under the weather. My best to her. We have some of those white flowers in our garden -- we call it yarrow but it has several names.

    1. We are fine but there was major damage done in some parts of the city. Many trees and power lines taken down and some serious building damage...roofs blown off, windows blown out. Thanks for asking.
