The natural area has a wide variety of habitat so we can see a variety of bird species. There at wetlands, grasslands, brush and a few trees
So I took the opportunity to get few fall photos and give you a general idea of what the area is like.
So six km of trails kept us busy for the morning.
Looks like very pleasant surroundings and a lovely, blue sky day.
ReplyDeleteWe had some blue sky today and it was a lovely break from our dark weather of the last week.
It was windy and cool. Birds stayed under cover.
DeleteBeautiful fall scenes Red. It looks like a wonderful place to go for a hike and do some birding.
ReplyDeleteIt's a very natural area.
DeleteI always like the coloured trees in autumn.
ReplyDeleteEach area is different but still colorful.
DeleteI found a YouTube video about the Nova Nature Trails:-

But you must have been hiding in the trees.
It was windy and I was in the shelter of the trees!
DeleteHope you found a few, getting meager with variety here. I am still seeing Bluebirds sporadically.
ReplyDeletePretty fall colors and nice that the company maintains a wild area and hiking trails.
ReplyDeleteIt has been vacant land for about 40 years. Before that it was used as pasture for cattle.
DeleteThose roads look inviting ... I'm ready for a walk!
ReplyDeleteThey're actually shale trails but a nice width ...three meters. There are many parts that are wooden and built out over the wetland.
DeleteLovely scenery!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a good spot for birds, although that chemical company probably isn't good for wildlife.
ReplyDeleteExcellent place for birds. They try to gain some positive press.
DeleteHi Red, Wow, Red Deer sure has some nice trails and birding areas. Enjoyed your photos.
ReplyDeleteWe are fortunate and have a great trail system.
DeleteSix kilometers is a great walk!
ReplyDeleteIt's a bit of a rush for two hours.
DeleteInsect eaters? Seed eaters? A balance of the two?
ReplyDeleteWe only have the insect eaters in the summer.
DeleteIt is very nice seeing your part of the world Red, thank you :)
ReplyDeleteWhat's the deal with the nature trail provided by the petrochemical company, Red? Is that part of their public relations efforts?!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely part of their PR program. They pay for our monthly news letter.
DeleteHope you got plenty of birds for your birding adventure. :-)
ReplyDeleteYour love for birds led you to such beautiful natural area in your surroundings Red!
ReplyDeletei can imagine the joy you must have felt while seeing lots of pretty feathery beauties around you !
Well, I'm glad NOVA has preserved some land for the birds, but I have to (cynically) wonder what horrors they, as a petrochemical company, are inflicting on the planet.
ReplyDeleteSure enjoyed your natural trails so pretty. The first four. Been away to family visiting for nine days. So catching up with your blog.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a good place to walk! :)
ReplyDeleteAny nature/birding hike is time well spent..:)
ReplyDeleteA lovely place to walk. Some nice autumn colours on the trees. Nice photos, Red.
