So now I can post some fall photos. However, tonight is not fall . It's winter. We've had snow for three days and have about 10 cm ( 4 in). I have shovelled the driveway and sidewalks three times.
So posting fall photos takes me back to better times.
Last Saturday Oct. 28 was a beautiful day. Jackets and coats came off as it was about 17 C (65 F). In my last post I shared one photo that I liked so I found out that there was very good light that day for the colors that were involved. So here are more photos from Heritage Ranch.
This is my Saturday afternoon birding group. They know how to have fun!
Me ... I prefer the photos WITHOUT the snow!
ReplyDeleteOf course. I just put the snow in for good contrast.
DeleteI'm joking about the snow. I don't like snow ... did you know, that stuff is cold ... and wet too! Anyway, my fave is the river shot.
DeleteWow, you've entered winter with a bang! Is this normal for your area?
ReplyDeleteI love the shot of the birch trees. It was a beautiful day here on that Saturday also.
We get a wild variety of winter. Half the time it comes in with bang like this.
DeleteKind of like my post today. So much change from last week to today. We have snow too, but ours won't stick around.
ReplyDeleteI would bet this snow will stick around until spring.
DeleteSome beautiful photos. I even like the snow photos but like you my fall photos take me back to better times. I knew the snow was coming to much of BC and Alberta. Thankfully it didn't fall here ~ yet.
ReplyDeleteThanks. I think the coast had snow in their forecast for a while.
DeleteThat is a quick change from fall to winter! Love the fall photos and your bird club members.
ReplyDeleteYes, a cold front comes in with moist air and it's winter.
DeleteSnow already! It's amazing how quickly your weather has changed. Let's hope the snow melts and that autumn returns for the remaining weeks of November at least.
ReplyDeleteI think this snow is here until spring. Things change quickly. The Sat. weather (horse) photos was the result of a chinook. The snow came in with a cold front that had moisture.
DeleteYour season changes fast, I can wait for the snow.It rained here last night
ReplyDeleteIt can change fast and then sometimes it's a long slow slide into winter.
DeleteNice pictures! I love the last two especially. Your birding pals looks like a fun group, all right. :-)
ReplyDeleteMy birding pals are like your hiking pals...lots of support for each other.
DeleteBirders always know how to have fun. I wish there was a more active group down here. The Audubon guy gets few for classes.
ReplyDeleteThere are several classes of birders. There are pros. We are knowledgeable but still have fun. We have no classes . Only field trips.
DeleteI heard about your snow! We had our first hard frost this morning.
ReplyDeleteYou've been getting lots of moisture.
DeleteWow, enjoyed all the photos! Regarding the snow, does it seem early or about on time? Interestingly, we had the first measurable snowfall in Seattle yesterday and that was the earliest snow here since the early 70s. This morning there is no accumulation but it is cold (at least for us). We have 2.7C at about 7 AM. That is a good looking group of birders. It looks like you guys have fun. Have a good weekend Red!
ReplyDeleteThis snow is about average. Some years we don't get snow until much later. In 2013 we had tons of snow on Nov. 3.
DeleteHello, I love pretty horses. Looks like a fun birding group. I am not too crazy over snow, I would not mind seeing snow this winter. Happy weekend to you!
ReplyDeleteWell, today it was minus 12 and we were out for two hours this afternoon and saw 11 species.
DeleteThat snow is a delightful sight! Excellent shots!
ReplyDeleteWe had some flakes last week, and the temperatures are now below freezing in the nights.
Looks like your weather skipped fall and went straight to winter!
ReplyDeleteWe didn't skip fall but we did not have a pleasant fall.
DeleteLooks like a great group of people. I'm not ready for winter or snow yet.
ReplyDeleteThere are about twenty people who attend with 8 to 10 the regular size.
ReplyDeleteThat is a fun group! Not so fun about the snow. I'm just not ready for it!
ReplyDeleteI liked the photo where you were all having a hoot. All lovely pics. The snow looks pretty at night but maybe not for walking or driving? Nice to look at though. Your fall photos are super. It is rainy down here in our part of Virginia, and 58 deg. F (14 deg. C). Not so bad really.
ReplyDeleteYour birding group looks like a wild bunch! I can't believe you're getting that much snow already. Good grief!
ReplyDeleteDo you have your snow stick out? You have more snow than we do but it is snowing here now:)
ReplyDeleteOh that is quite a hard work to wipe out snow three times.
ReplyDeletethe lake view is sene and magical to eyes!
loved the bird lovers and their fun pose for photos .age of bodies doesn't matter if heart is full of excitement of youth!
really beautiful post Red!
Oh your group is a lot of fun. Great smiles and fun poses.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed all your pictures Red.
