As most of you know I like wall murals. I enjoy seeing good quality wall murals. There are many styles and the topics are endless. Each artist has his/her own style. The beauty is that the art is very visible in the community. It's seen! Many artists produce things and they are not seen or appreciated .
The mural I'm showing today took a long time to complete. The local paper did a couple of stories while the work was in progress. I didn't take a good look at it until the other day. With this one you have to get out of the car to have a good look. You see much more when you walk up to it. However, to photograph this mural you have to back up against a wall. What I ended up doing is taking photos of each section.
Of course the wall belongs to a pub/restaurant that puts on shows.
So this mural is not only in a difficult position to photograph but it could have been in more vivid color and sharper detail.
Wow that is an amazing mural. Indeed a lot of work.
ReplyDeleteThey worked quite a while on this one.
DeleteI like it...very talented artist! :)
ReplyDeleteThey certainly had to do some planning.
DeleteFantastic mural. I can imagine how difficult it is to photograph but it's beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI had fun with this one.
DeleteIt is a nice one, I like Leonard Cohen.
ReplyDeleteYes, old Leonard was one of my favorites.
DeleteIt's wonderful seeing murals. It just brightens up the cityscape.
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to chase down more.
DeleteWow, that's a lot of work!
ReplyDeleteJust the painting alone is work and then it has to be scaled and drawn before that.
DeleteWhen you look at the details it's quite interesting and well done. From a bit of a distance it just looks messy.
ReplyDeleteYes, it's finished very roughly.
DeleteWall murals are a great way for talented artists to showcase their talents in a way to share with everyone vs. graffiti and this one was wonderful to see, Red. Nashua, NH has a number of wall art works within the downtown area and I may do a post on them in the near future.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your recent comments on several of my blog posts. I always read and appreciate everyone's comments.
Yes, show some murals . I like them. Thanks for visiting Hiawatha House.
DeleteMusicians as a theme is a good one!
ReplyDeleteThey have some of my favorites...Lightfoot, Young , Cohen
DeleteLike this, I remember Neil Young being from Canada , but wondered if all were.
ReplyDeletethe ones I know are Canadian . There are two I've never heard of.
DeleteA very nice mural! I like that it plays homage to some famous musicians. Is it on the back of a club or bar that has live entertainment maybe?
ReplyDeleteIt is on the side of a club that has lots of local performers.
DeleteWow, that is a beauty of a mural. Nice one, Red.
ReplyDeleteThanks. I've been watching it for a while and finally was able to stop and take a good look.
DeleteYou did great, Red. I really appreciated you taking the time to show it to me. My imagination as to what it looks like all together really helps. :-)
ReplyDeleteThe mural faces a narrow alley.
DeleteVery cool mural. At first I thought they were all Canadian musicians but on a closer look the mural covers much more musical ground than that! It's frustrating sometimes when location makes a good picture hard to get, but you did well with that.
ReplyDeleteThanks. Thee were two I'd never heard of. They must come from newer music.
DeleteThanks for sharing this Red. You have some good, creative people in Red Deer. Long may they thrive.
ReplyDeleteThanks. There is an active arts community here.
DeleteTHESE ARE AWESOME RED. Thank you for sharing. B
ReplyDeleteQuite artful despite its placement.
ReplyDeleteAn interesting collection of musicians. At first I thought they were all Canadian, but Bowie and Curtis were British, Cave is Australian and Simone was American. So there goes that theory! I wonder what the unifying ingredient is, then?
