ONE SHOULDN'T SNICKER

When I was still teaching one year on the last day before Christmas holidays a kid came to the concert with a newly broken arm. I said to the kid that I had never had a broken bone.

Well guess what? The next day I fell and broke my wrist. Worse than that I was doing the Christmas bird count so I was fair game for all kinds of ribbing like " I didn't know birding was a dangerous sport. "

Well on my last post I made a few remarks about people who have spring weather that is ten times better than mine and they still wanted better weather. I should have known to keep my mouth shut.

Over night we had 15 to 20 cm of snow. Lovely soft white stuff just made for shoveling. The snowplow had just finished yesterday.

Why don't I keep my mouth shut?

    1. It's been a very different winter season. Sept. gave us wintry weather. It's seemed like a long winter.

  2. Oooo, karma has your address for sure :)

At least the fluffy snow is light and won't strain your back! We had some like that last week. I got some great closeups - you can see the six points of each snowflake. I need to post about that.

    1. Looking at snow crystals is certainly better than shoveling those crystals.

  3. This has been one heavy duty winter for all of us! And I think we each judge a "bad winter" by comparison to what we are accustomed to in our individual locality. Please tell me that is an old picture and you did not break your wrist or arm recently???

  9. Ha ha ... I think we'd all be better off if we "kept our mouths shut." But that snow sure is pretty.

    1. Keeping our mouths under control would help in other areas than weather.

  15. Wow, Red, amazing white stuff there! It is pretty, though, if you don't have to drive in it. I'm sure you read about our Snowmageddon. Folks in Red Deer would probably laugh at us and call us babies. For Seattle it was pretty wild. I wonder, do you think you gotten more snow than usual this year? John

  16. We do understand that you're not prepared for snow. Road Design? Tire type? Driving habits? You're forgiven.

  17. Hey Red. I just read your last post too and thought about myself. I am guilty of complaining about the weather, always wishing for warmer days, and more sunny days. Seems like this has been an extremely cold and snowy winter for folks up north and extremely cloudy, wet, and rainy down here. I need to keep quiet too. :)

  18. March always brings snow that nobody wants. Yours is pretty, though. Covers up the “snirt” (snow + dirt) as we said in Minnesota.

  19. You're getting buried in snow, you need some sun asap. :) Be careful what you say, it could come back to bite you. :)
