JUST TO LET YOU KNOW...
Just to let you know that in Red Deer Alberta we had snow today!!! Yes, it snowed for about two hours this morning. At one time there was about 2 cm on the ground. It's rained all day...just what we need. It's very dry here.
There was much more snow in the Rocky Mountains. At higher elevations there was lots of snow.
Cold weather must be coming this way:) It is warm here:)
ReplyDeleteI've been watching radar and it doesn't seem to be going very far.
DeleteWell it snowed in Bryce Canyon, Utah, a week ago. But here where I'm visiting in Phoenix, it's 102 degrees. Go figure.
ReplyDeleteWeather's weird. Bryce canyon is pretty high up.
DeleteOh my gosh! Seriously? Doesn't Mother Nature know this is June?
ReplyDeleteIt's not uncommon to get some snow in June.
DeleteOh wow! I thought I heard the meteorologist mention snow but I didn't catch where. I hope with the combination of snow and rain that it will add a little to your dry soil.
ReplyDeleteIt's been a very nice all day rain. We haven't had that for at least two years.
DeleteThat is bad that winter starts again....
ReplyDeleteWell, it's like Christmas!
DeleteThat cold dip from the arctic that is causing all the melting up there, is keeping you in a much longer winter. These shifts in the weather patterns are truly fascinating and horrific at the same time.
ReplyDeleteThis came in over Oregon and swings up here and goes up against the mountains and we get precipitation.
DeleteHello, It does seem strange to see snow in June. I am glad you are getting some rain. Enjoy your day and weekend!
ReplyDeleteSnow in June doesn't happen very often but it does happen.
DeleteIt was the same here, in the High Country they had snow last Thursday when it rained down below. It does seem rather late in the season, though, for snow. :-)
ReplyDeleteWe will get snow in the Rockies. It usually doesn't snow down here.
DeleteMakes me wonder how common it is to have snow in June. Glad you got some rain, and I hope things clear up there soon.
ReplyDeleteWe probably get snow in June once every 5 - 10 years. It's not common.
DeleteWondering if this is the first time you've seen snow in June? Glad to see you getting the moisture. Thanks for the neat pictures.
ReplyDeletewe get snow in June every 5 - 10 years. the moisture is good.
DeleteHappy June! I hope it didn't harm your plants and flowers.
ReplyDeletePlants and flowers are ok . It got to plus 1 C.
DeleteWill your garden plants survive? It's been cold here, but not THAT cold! But it will be another two weeks before the full moon is over and we can put plants out. It makes for a short growing season.
ReplyDeletePlants are fine. It didn't freeze.
DeleteOh, good grief! Enough already!
ReplyDeleteSteve, my one disappointment...there wasn't enough snow for good snow balls.
DeleteIt must have irritated the critters.
ReplyDeleteWe've had snow here in each recorded month of the year at one point or another, except for July.
Critters are adaptable. We're the same here...snow every month except July.
DeleteWow, that's amazing. At least it will disappear quickly if it hasn't already.
ReplyDeleteBy 6 PM the snow was gone. There was only about 1 cm on the ground as most of it melted as it hit the ground.
DeleteMt Hood, in Oregon got snow yesterday too. Crazy!
ReplyDeleteIt's kind of hard to grow your garden when it snows in June!
ReplyDeleteSnow in June what a fantasy dear Red :)
ReplyDeletethis is relief to get rain specially when it is needed
i enjoyed these happy delightful images !
At least it was temporary and you got some much needed rain out of it. I guess that's the positive way of looking at it :)
ReplyDeleteOh, my....
ReplyDeleteYou seem philosophical about snow and cold weather. Is your carer (The Micro Manager) just as philosophical?
ReplyDeleteI do believe about this date in Minnesota,(some decades ago) as summer vacation commenced we left with our popup camper to head to Alaska and passed thru Red Deer. Don't remember it snowing though....:)
ReplyDeleteGoodness, we don't even get snow in winter, yet alone in summer. I think I'll stay where I am.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get the precipitation you need although I'm guessing it would be better as rain than snow?
ReplyDeleteYou certainly did have some not so unusual weather for your area.
