Yes, I know I already did a post on my new hearing aides, but you're going to have to put up with another story.
There have been some surprises with the hearing aides. Some things I haven't heard for a long time and now I hear them.
Usually when we finish lunch I get up right away and do the dishes. Well, the other day the Micro Manager had something to do before I could do the dishes.
I decided to lie down for a few minutes until I could do the dishes. Well, often the Micro Manager takes more time so I drifted off to sleep. Now I don't nap very often but when I do nap it's 15 to 20 minutes and then I'm wide awake and good to go.
The other day I kept waking up from my nap. It was very disturbing that I was being woken up. I would wake up because I could hear a noise.
Yes, you guessed it. When I started to snore , I heard the noise and woke up. I won't be able to say , "I don't snore." anymore.
...and I learned that I can't sleep with my hearing aides on!
Well I think maybe you should ask the micromanager about that. She might want you to leave them in when your nap because she could hear the snoring all along.
ReplyDeleteI think I learned my lesson.
DeleteYou made me laugh! Waking up by your own snoring, hilarious!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't believe what was happening.
DeleteHaha! It's so bizarre to catch ones self snoring
ReplyDeleteUsually snorers are in total denial.
DeleteHello, my hubby has a loud snore, I am surprised he can sleep through all the noises he makes. LOL. Happy weekend to you!
ReplyDeleteI think snorers do tend to wake themselves up from time to time hearing aide or no hearing aide.
DeleteThat is both funny and sad. Sorry to hear you keep waking yourself up with your snoring, Red. Is it hard to take them off? I'd just remove them when sleeping. Or maybe there is a "mute" button. :-)
ReplyDeleteOh you take the hearing aide of for sleeping. It's easy. In my case I laid down and forgot they were in my ears.
DeleteI'll remember this story if I ever get hearing aides. No napping with them in!
ReplyDeleteYes, when you go to bed you take them off. I take them off shortly after supper.
DeleteHi Red, This is hilarious! :-) Gotta luv it! I'll be smiling about this all day. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI was a little ticked because of waking up. It was only later that I realized what happened.
DeleteHa....never heard of anyone disturbing themselves!
ReplyDeleteIt was certainly a surprise to me!
DeleteBusted, Red :)
ReplyDeleteMaybe that's why my husband doesn't realize he snores - he can't hear himself!
Snorers are very reluctant to admit they snore.
DeleteI’m laughing. Paul did the same thing, and for weeks was asking me, “What’s that sound? It’s so LOUD!” You just have to laugh, right?
ReplyDeleteThere are all kinds of sounds you hear when you start wearing hearing aides. There are things you haven't heard for a while.
DeleteRather than have fancy new hearing aids why not get a big cone or ear trumpet as people with hearing issues used to use in the past?
ReplyDeleteHey they aren't selling those anymore and anyway I'd have to hire you to carry them around for me.
DeleteHow much do you pay?
DeleteOh, dear. That is bitter sweet!
ReplyDeleteIt was a new learning experience.
DeleteNow that's a funny story, you made me laugh. :)
ReplyDeleteThings to get used to with this new way of hearing! :)
ReplyDeleteSometimes you have to admit the truth!
ReplyDeleteI wear hearing aids and take short naps on many days, but I have never slept or napped with my hearing aids in unless maybe briefly and accidentally. But it seems like they are really working well for you.
ReplyDeleteOK... Now this is just too funny! You must not snore THAT loud. My husband snores so loud that he'll sometimes wake up and ask, "What was that? Was I snoring?" And that's without his hearing aids in!
ReplyDeleteWell, that IS interesting. Everytime we change something in our lives it becomes a mystery leading to another mystery it seems.
ReplyDeleteOh Red you are too funny:)
ReplyDeleteI keep misplacing mine. Not good considering the price...:(
