I HATE SHOPPING

I know I've told you several times that I hate shopping. Once in a while I just have to shop and I whine all over again.

It got down to the point where I had only one pair of jeans without holes and they were becoming very close to having a hole. Now on the yard I always wear jeans with holes ...lots of holes. But I never go off the yard with a pair of jeans that have holes.

So the Micro manager took me off to the best jean buying place. Oh no. The jeans I bought the last time  ( five years ago) are not sold anymore. The other jeans cost 70 bucks a pair and I'm not paying 70 bucks for a pair of jeans.

What to do? I finally settled on jeans of less quality and less price. It didn't seem right but that was all there was. So after an hour I walked out of the store with something I really didn't want.

By accident we stopped in another store because the Micro Manager wanted something. As we were walking through the store, what did we find but the exact jeans I wanted at a good price...40 bucks!

So I ended up going home with four pairs of jeans. Now I'm not buying four pairs of jeans at this stage in my life. I might not wear all of them out!

So today was one more day of shopping. First we took back the jeans we didn't want and then we stopped at the mall again to look for what the Micro Manager wanted.

Now that was two days of shopping in a row!

   That was painful.

  1. I dislike shopping too. I want things but not at the prices they want in store. These days I do much of my personal shopping on line and take advantage of the sales promotions so I can stretch my dollars. I'm glad you were able to find the jeans you wanted at a better price too!

  2. It might have been painful, but you got what you really wanted and were able to take back the ones you didn't like. I don't enjoy shopping, either, but I'm not as uncomfortable with it as some people are. :-)

  3. ...70 bucks for jeans is ridiculous, I just patch the holes in my jeans. I hate new jeans and I love my old ones.

  4. Ha! I understand how you feel but at least you found the jeans you wanted. My husband and I are just the opposite of most couples. I hate shopping and he loves it.

  5. I don't like shopping either, but sometimes you just gotta". The problem with not shopping often is that they get rid of your favorite products and then you have to start all over agin. I hate that.

    1. You hit the nail on the head. I had to get jeans and yes it was so long ago that I bought the last jeans that they weren't available anymore.

  6. Well, hopefully that's all the shopping for awhile, at least! Who does the Christmas shopping in your family??

  7. If I find a perfect pair of jeans, I will often buy a back up...just in case. Unfortunately I ...ummmm... grew out of them eventually when my weight somehow went up. Sigh. I'm so glad you found the pair you really wanted. That was awesome!

  9. I don't like to shop either. One of my least favorite things to do. I did go to the store last month to buy new jeans. Only one pair in my size and yes, they cost $70.

  10. Ha! Well, I'm glad you endured! It's so frustrating when you find a product you like and then for some reason the manufacturer quits making it. Argh!

  12. Yeah, and no matter how much you spend, the new ones are never as comfortable as the old ones, right? But ... you can't just walk around in your skivvies.

  13. So odd as we get older that we only purchase clothes based on how long we have to live!!

  14. The Micro Manager has got you well trained Red! "Red! Red! Here boy! We're going shopping for new jeans!...Stop growling like that! Bad boy Red!"
P.S. You never leave your property wearing jeans with holes in? What about flyholes?

  15. I with you, Red. Jeans here cost 90 euro and I will never buy at that price, plus I don't like the style. :)

  16. Hi Red, I wonder if you threw away your old jeans? If not, no worries about the holes. Around Seattle here I've noticed lots of folks, usually somewhat younger, wearing jeans with holes ... some with lots of holes. I'm wondering if they think that is fashionable? Ha ha. Anyway, I'm glad you're done with the shopping for a while and have some new jeans you like.

  17. Oh my Grandkids in Canada wear the holes in knees so threaded. Over a hundred dollars a pair or more. So your in style Red. My kids wear them in the winter. I say to them. Are you not cold. No. Winter coats half long the guys very dressy . Girls short jackets and the holes in knees in winter too. Can you believe that style. Glad your not teaching Red. Who has gone bonkers.

  18. I am glad you got your jeans but that was quite a shopping trip. I don't like shopping either which makes my other half very happy :)

  19. Jeans can be ridiculously expensive. I always try to find a good bargain. Well, at least you're all set with some new jeans. You won't have to suffer that shopping trip any time soon :)

  20. I have three pairs of jeans around, and a couple of pairs of slacks. That does me fine.

I'm not looking forward to the weeks following Remembrance Day- endless Christmas music in every store.

  21. I agree that 70 dollars is way too much to pay for jeans, but what really amazes me is that people pay $ for jeans that are pre-ripped. What's up with that? We have an L.L. Bean outlet here in Nashua, NH and that's where I buy jeans which are usually 70% discounted and ones I've had for years are still without holes. Good for you, Red, on finding a good deal.

  22. I understand! My husband won't wear holes in jeans to town either...but have you noticed teenagers buy jeans with holes already in them:(
