SUNSET

About 6:00 Pm out of the corner of my eye I noticed that the sun had set and it was almost dark and continued on my way. Then I stopped ans said," I think there's something out there. So why not try a photos.

Well I figured out one thing that it's hard to focus in that light. I also found out that I'm pretty wiggly and things get blurry.

So it was minus 8 C and about 6:00 PM.

The white strip is the neighbors fence which was lit by the street light. The things that look lights on the left are where snow is piled up on the mountain ash berries.

I think I need more practice on sunsets!

  1. Sunsets and sunrises are hard because of the reduced light. I'm "wiggly" too! You might have a setting for sunrise/sunset on your camera; did you check?

  2. PS - I think you did a great job, though. The sky and trees are so pretty - I like those shots.

  3. Oh what fun! I love the the colors of sunsets and sunrises. By coincidence, I took a sunrise shot today and so did my photographer buddy. His were much better than mine.

  7. You did a pretty good job, even if you are a little bit "wiggly." It's hard to take pictures when the light is that low. :-)

  8. Sunsets are hard. Lean against a tree if you do not have a tripod or you could balance on a picnic table. These are very haunting.

    1. Thank you. I saw this as I went by the window so quickly backed up to take another look.

  10. Yorkshire Pudding mentioned that you were from Red Deer in his last reply to me, so I thought I'd look you up.

I was reading a post of yours' about Halloween. I moved to Red Deer in 1970 as a child; I was eight years old. Small world indeed.

  13. Not bad, actually. When light is reduced it can be very challenging to take a decent photo.

  14. I love seeing the sunsets there. Makes me wonder what time the sun goes down these days. Here it's getting dark by 5:00.

  15. With a little practice, you'll get better. There are little tripods out there that will help you too and there not expensive.
    Enjoy the weekend!
