SUNRISE ...SUNSET

We quite often see great sunrises and sunsets if we're watching. At this time of year with the sun low in the sky we get some great sunrises.

One thing I liked about the Arctic were the great skies. For 6 weeks a year the sun didn't come above the horizon but that didn't stop us from getting some great skies.

Okay, it took me a long time to say that the other day I had a beautiful sunrise and sunset on the same day.

    1. We should look at sunsets and sunrises more than we do.

  4. We get good ones at this time of year, too. I guess that lower sun is better for color in the clouds?

  6. You’ve inspired me to look for sunsets anyway. Not a chance for sunrise I’m afraid.

  12. I am seeing photos on Facebook this morning of a spectacular SUNRISE over the Pacific Ocean in the WESTERN sky. Apparently the whole sky was lit up.

  13. The trouble with sunrise is that it comes too early, no matter what time of year and the trouble with sunset is that I never remember to look out when it's time. Glad you did, Red.

  18. Hi Red, Red Deer is somewhat further north than Seattle which means your days will be a little shorter this time of year. I just looked up Red Deer on TimeAndDate where you can see all the sun information. Looks like today you'll have 7 hrs 55 min of daylight. Seattle has about 46 minutes more at 8 hrs 36 min. One thing I like about living at these northern latitudes is the change in length of days. I grew up down south and the days stay about the same length all year. It gets boring. Have a good weekend. By the way, here is a link to TimeAndDate for Red Deer https://www.timeanddate.com/weather/canada/red-deer
