EXCUSES

I haven't posted for a while. I've got excuses...probably all of them wrong!

First I was blown away by the comments on my last post on education. Obviously all of you have been following what's been goin on in education for a long time. You're not just recent followers when much instruction is being done on line. You wonder what will happen next in education.

So thanks for the great comments.

I got my first covid shot yesterday.  I could tell that my arm was a bit sore this morning but in an hour or so all soreness was gone.

I have dabbled in family genealogy for four or fine years . I have found it difficult to enter and change information so usually abandon my efforts. Last month I contacted a woman who has been working on our genealogy. I had information and photos to share with her and she sent me off on a search for information. So It was nice to make a little progress on the project.

I've been enjoying some spring like weather. we've had highs above freezing for about ten days which is warm spring weather for here.

So I have some excuses for not posting but I know you won't let me get away with them.

  1. You don't need excuses for not posting. We all need a break once in awhile. I'm happy to hear you got your first Covid shot!

I dabble in family genealogy also and find it can be very time consuming, but I do enjoy it. I use Ancestry.com to help with my research but of course sometimes just searching on the internet can help.

I'm glad to hear you are getting some warmer days! I'm so happy Spring is coming!

  2. I am gld to hear you are making progress on the family geneology project. I kinda gave up on mine long ago. I am also glad to hear you got your Covid shot. In BC we are going based on age and since I'm a bit younger, I will not have mine for awhile though exactly sure when. I think spring or summer at latest. The registration process for mass vaccinations opened up last Monday and also goes by age. In other words, certain ages register at certain times. Last but not least the time between vaccines has been extended from 1 month to 4. Other provinces seem to be following suit. Have a wonderful week ahead.

    1. We found the mass registration to be a total failure. We got our shots at a nearby drugstore.

    1. The distribution of vaccine has been a total disaster. Some long term care homes have not been done.

  4. Our highs have not been above freezing, which I am finding disappointing. We have a few warmer days coming up before we are back to below freezing temperature.

    1. Our 10 day forecast looks good. But as one neighbor said today , "Remember those march blizzards?" Yes I do so we should be prepared for a let down.

  5. My arm was sore for a day, but it's been a week now and I wouldn't even know I had it. The second one might be a bit different, though. Congratulations on getting your first one, Red! :-)

  7. Really glad to know you got your first covid shot and that it went well. I got mine on Friday and my arm was sore for two days. I'm just relieved to have gotten it and am waiting for my second on April 2nd. Enjoy those spring temps there, Red.

    1. We will enjoy the spring temperatures but some of our worst storms happen in March.

  8. Congrats on the shot! Never thought I would be saying that a year ago. What software are you using for your genealogy? I have found some of it to be quite tedious and years ago, gave up with trying to use it on my personal computer. Now I only use free online software which seems much easier to use and I don't have to worry about the future of it.

    1. I use family search but I'm not very good at it. I've found another relative to work with so things are going better.

  9. You have so much good family history information that you have shared with us! Glad you are able to put it together for future generations.
Nice to hear you got your 1st dose - I got mine last week too and it felt like a huge relief to be started!
Glad to see your post. Looking forward to Spring!

    1. It gives one some hope when you get the shot. Our ten day forecast looks pretty good but if you remember in Montana you get some very bad storms in March.

  14. It has been only a week, Red. Lots of people blog far less often. I was not aware of your ‘blogging break’ at all.

I always enjoy whatever you choose to write. I may not always agree, but I always enjoy.

    1. Yes, we can disagree as long as we have some information and use some logic. Good vigorous discussion is what keeps us going.

  15. It's great that you got your covid jab, we still have to wait for our turn to come up, maybe next month. It's good to take a break from posting just to be able to recharge. Have a wonderful new week!

    1. Being 81 is good for something even if it's only to get a vaccination.

  16. No excuses or reasons required. We are just glad when you return.
Both shots in the arm here. We are waiting at least two weeks before we "go wild". Not sure what going wild would look like since that was not our style before Covid, but we may get out a bit more.
Tom is our genealogist. He has been doing research for years, but now with everything digitized, there is so much more information available and he is making a few new connections.

    1. We were both vaccinated. We get a couple of cooler days this week and then it's nice again. But you know that we can get some very bad march blizzards.

  18. It’s okay to take a break! We got our first shots on Friday and I find myself feeling elated, even though we won’t really venture forth until two weeks after we have the second dose as the CDC is recommending. But the ... watch out world!

  19. When you write a post that's fine Red. There are plenty of other things to fill in your day! As for geneology both sides of my family were put together by other people. It's a lot of work and it's not always easy to get accurate facts.
