It's always beautiful on a snowy, winter's day when the sun shines brightly. I remember the times well but I also had a difficult time when the sun was shining and reflecting off the snow. My eyes would water so much I could barely keep them open.
Really pretty, Red. But if the sun is out and the snow isn't melting, it's too cold. The 4 degrees F in K.C. was cold enough this morning. The doc's lab tech took frozen blood from my arm.... Linda in Kansas
You all have had a bitter winter. This week here we went from a high of 31F to a high of 70F and then in another day a high of 40F. The nights were similar!

ReplyDeleteYes, wear sunglasses to help protect against the sun glare.
DeleteThat is very cold! We haven't had that for years here now.
ReplyDeleteI don't like it but it's normal for here.
DeleteBeautiful photographs but a bit on the cold side for me. Where xactly do you live Red?
ReplyDeleteThanks. Red deer , Alberta , Canada.
Delete"All things bright and beautiful."
ReplyDeleteGood line!
DeleteA bright winter day means a cold winter day. It looks so enticing and then you realize that maybe you should stay indoors.
ReplyDeleteAnd a good photographer has light questions as far as a photographer is concerned.
DeleteLooks like lots of snow and very cold temps. Stay warm, Red.
ReplyDeleteWe don't have a lot of snow and this area doesn't get a lot of snow but it stays here.
DeleteBurr. Winter is far from over! Love that last shot.
ReplyDeleteYes, don't get too anxious about spring.
DeleteMy kind of weather!
ReplyDeleteI knew it!
DeleteToo cold for me!
ReplyDeleteFunny how a person gets accustomed to it.
DeleteNeat pictures. Question: In an average Red Deer winter, is snow on the ground most of the time?
ReplyDeleteSnow is on the ground most of the time.
DeleteYou're welcome to weather like that. I always wonder how the first European settlers managed to survive the Canadian winters.
ReplyDeletesome of them perished. Many suffered but most learned to cope with shelter and clothing.

ReplyDelete4 F is cold and if there's wind it's really cold.
DeleteBeautiful, but so cold. Our sunshine today is at +30F.
ReplyDelete+ 30 F for you is cold.
DeleteVery bright indeed. And we too woke to clear skies and cold temperatures but nothing like yours! :-)
ReplyDeleteWe usually think of winter as dull so when it's bright we notice it.
DeleteOh wow, not moaning about our cold weather. Very pretty snowy photos! Stay warm :)
ReplyDeleteYes. it was easy to notice that it was bright.
DeleteSunshine and snow is a lovely combination.
ReplyDeleteIt was fresh snow so was really bright.
DeleteThe Klein Mansion looks lovely in the snow. It will be hard to leave it. How long have you lived there Red?
ReplyDeleteWell, that's not the Kline mansion. I've lived here in the same house since 1970.
DeleteApologies for mis-spelling your surname Red.
DeleteThese are beautiful pictures and the sun does indeed brighten them. I bet you needed to wear your sunglasses out today!
