MY MIND IS A BLANK

Usually there are three or four topics rolling around in my head for blog posts. They gradually hatch and become a blog post.

Recently I've been in a dry spell.

The crazy old Ukrainian war has kept my attention. I'm angry with what is going on in the Ukraine. I see all kinds of news about the war. We can't rely on what we see. I have limited information on the war so I'd best not post on it. I have seen some great blog posts about the war and I appreciate them .

In Canada we've just had a truck convoy occupy Ottawa. The protesters were extremely ignorant and ill behaved. They had no idea what they wanted . They had no idea how the system works and that the system does work. They confused the Canadian system with the American system which are both good systems of government. These two systems function well if left to do so.

Covid has distressed me for more than two years. I have not had covid and have had my three shots. The virus itself is frustrating as it keeps being able to change it's form and hit us again. It's not been fun staying away from people. It's not been fun seeing people misbehave in a very selfish way about vaccinations or covid rules.

These three issues have kept my mind whirling around. There's no easy fix. there's great risk from all three issues.

So maybe if I write about these three issues, I will be able to think of something else.

  1. Hey Mr. Red!

Yep, those 3 topics are worrisome, but there's so much we can't do about them. Your mind isn't blank: it's full of spinning stuff.

I thought we'd get a distraction with baseball season starting, but no, those guys can't agree on starting. (Are they being ungrateful, considering what's going on in the world.)

Maybe writing about your typical day growing up would be cool. I'm still considering that flannel underwear could help when it's too cold in Kansas

  2. Sounds like you might needed professional counselling Red. I don't mention this much but I am a qualified psychotherapist. My fees are very reasonable. Just lie down on my couch over there and we'll begin...

  3. Hello,
The 3 topics are on everyone's mind lately. I try never to take anything for granted, you never know what will happen next. Take care, enjoy your day and have a great new week!

  7. These three topics have me confused, sad and angry at the same time. One huge hit after another has made issues like inflation seem trivial but that has a direct effect on our lives too. And then there’s the climate…

    Such troubled times!

    1. I think these issues are much more critical than things we've faced in the past.

  8. It does seem harder these days to find something to write about. We are going through such a challenging time in so many ways. I keep hoping to see beauty as spring emerges and that it will inspire me to write more. I hope you find inspiration, Red.

  9. The world is full of nonsense...I think about all that wasted gas and for what? Did it make a difference. Hang in there Red, we are all in this together and no one is getting out alive...Spring will come.

  10. From the Russian people refusing to believe the truth of Putin's lies to the Canadian truckers refusing to accept the need for COVID mandates, to the Americans believing the "big lie" of our last presidential election, we see that willful ignorance is a worse plague than COVID.
Continue to hold your ground, Red. We need all of the truth tellers we can keep.

  13. I wake up at least once during the night and think about the war and hope that it will end soon. I hope Putin learns what his desire to take other countries will cost him.

  16. You described to a T how issues roll around in my head, too, "hatching", as you put it, into a blog post. I always like to read your posts on current events because you have loads of common sense and can also condense a big topic into readable form. My head is stuck on Ukraine and that bully Putin at the moment. He's just going to keep on going if he keeps getting his way. Should NATO call his bluff? It's a risk either way.

  18. I am definitely with you on all of these topics, Red. Ukraine is on my mind daily. The infection numbers are down in Hawaii, but I don't know if it's because more people are just testing themselves at home which don't get reported. And there's always the threat of another variant around the corner. I'm afraid your Canadian truckers were infected by the idiocy in our country.

  19. Actually your mind is not at all blank and I think you have made an excellent post in bringing up the things that have been bothering us all. There has been so much going on to crowd our thoughts in the past few years. I think it is a good thing for us all to remember that we are not going through these things alone and others feel the same way. The past few months I've had a hard time coming up with posts for the same reason. It just all catches up with you sometimes! Hopefully this post will help you in clearing that block. It helps me to know I am not alone in these feelings.

  20. Hi Red, You did a good job writing up those three issues whirling around in your head. I like the way you started with this, “Usually there are three or four topics rolling around in my head for blog posts. They gradually hatch and become a blog post.” I have something similar going on in my head when I go on walks, take pictures, and then end up posting them on the blog with my thoughts. Getting a post finished is good and clears the slate for moving on to the next one. Have a good week ahead. John
