So on April 19 we had a major snow storm . Yesterday was very dull. Visibility was low. It snowed all day and quit around 3:00 AM.
Spring storms like this are not unusual. However, people always look back at the records.
So this post is just for William from Ottawa Daily Photo. William loves snow!
You know I got thinking and I wouldn't have had to work so hard and get these photos. I've got lots from other years that I could use!
No appreciable snow here all winter in my part of the UK, not that I mind so much. You should have been out there making a snow sculpture - just for William, of course.
ReplyDeleteMy snow sculpture ability does not go beyond a snow man.
DeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteWe missed the last snow storm here, it was all around us.
Looks pretty, lovely photos. Take care, enjoy your day!
In places the storm that went by you was very severe. You're lucky.
DeleteUgh!
ReplyDeleteIt could have been worse!
DeleteIt seems that a good portion of the North American Continent is having late and large snowstorms. I am sure it is related to climate change.
ReplyDeleteYou are right. Climate change is the reason for some of it. we've not had out of the ordinary weather yet except for a lot of wind.
DeleteOur snow wasn’t major, but any snow in April is not welcomed.
ReplyDeleteWell, I think we have to accept April snow but May had better not have snow.
DeleteIf you can just keep your snow there, I would appreciate it. After two days of snow, it is starting to warm up again.
ReplyDeleteThere was a huge system that went through last week. We missed that one.

DeleteTo paraphrase The Shawshank Redemption: snow is a good thing. Maybe the best of things. And no good thing ever dies.
ReplyDeleteWonderful shots!
Thanks.
DeleteIt looks quite pretty when it is a long way away from here.
ReplyDeleteIt was pretty as it was wet snow and clung to the trees.
DeleteIf April showers bring May flowers, maybe April snow helps things to grow! Hope the weather warms up there.
ReplyDeleteYou know April showers are not a big issue here.
DeleteThe snow doesn't bother me because when it comes in the Spring here, it doesn't last long. My few blooms have had snow and cold and high winds but they are still going strong!
ReplyDeleteApril snow melts quickly here too. Last week we had a low of minus 10 C but my blue bells and chive survived.
DeleteWow, that is some snow you got. :)
ReplyDeleteWe need moisture here so the snow was welcome.
DeleteSnow shots do look a lot alike year after year. I hope you can warm up soon and see spring.
ReplyDeleteNo worries the snow will melt quickly. We could still get more snow.
DeleteThe same could be said for my garden photos now that everything is mature, but the joy comes in being out there and experiencing it again, unless maybe it is a late, unwelcome snowstorm.
ReplyDeleteI'm a terrible guy for watching for growth in all my plants.
DeleteWell, it is pretty but I think it's time for winter to sleep for a number of months!
ReplyDeleteIt is pretty when wet snow clings to the trees.
DeleteNice ... but I prefer my snow in Jan and Feb.
ReplyDeleteOur Jan, Feb months are very dry.
DeleteAnd not long after, we had the snow. It melted pretty fast.
ReplyDeleteThis will take a few days to melt as there is so much of the stuff.
DeleteWell I used to like winter, but not anymore, and definitely not in April!
ReplyDeleteThe only good part of this snow is that it won't last long.
DeleteYikes! I am so glad our snow has the good sense to stay in our mountains. Usually. :-)
ReplyDeleteWell, you chose Bellingham to avoid snow so it works.
DeleteI see we are in good company! :) Hope your winter wonderland melts:)
ReplyDeleteA large snow system went through last week. By your photos , it looks like you got a lot of snow.
ReplyDeletePoor man's fertilizer, as the saying goes! I just wish it didn't involve so much shovelling :) Hope yours melts fast.
ReplyDeleteI dislike spring snow, especially this late. It looks pretty though.
ReplyDeleteWow, that's quite a bit! Our snow went away and then we had lots of rain.
ReplyDeleteit seems that these early months of the years are dedicated to various kind of storms throughout the the world
ReplyDeletenice captures ! beauty of snow is undeniable on the other hand
Good grief! You still have snow? I know my daughter told us they got some too (last week, I think), but it was just for a short time. It's almost May for goodness sakes.
