There are small hints of fall but I'm not ready for fall.
We have had a heat spell for about 6 or 7 weeks. Not a really uncomfortable hot but hot none the less. Our highs have been mostly 28C to 30 C. For many people this is not hot at all.
But what I'm trying to say is that with warm summer weather ,it's hard to get your head ready for fall.
If fall comes quickly your head has to adjust to things very quickly. Today our high was 19 C. Most of the day it was 13 C with sometimes a strong wind. So definitely a touch of fall.
However, there are other signs of fall. All of my garden flowers are finished blooming and the plants are starting to look pretty ragged.
Leaves are falling but they are the ones that have been damaged over the season. Insects have chewed much of the leaf and the leave has quit functioning so weakens and drops. Some leaves have been eaten by leaf miners.
After all that whining, I do like fall.
I like Fall too, it is welcome after the humidity of summer, I just hope it lasts for months!
ReplyDeleteWe don't get the high humidity here. It's dry.
DeleteI love fall and spring. Granted fall is quickly followed by the super cold weather of winter.
ReplyDeleteBut does Hawaii get seasons?
DeleteWe have two seasons. Hot/sweaty and Cooler/Rainy.
DeleteI like fall too but it's far too short before winter arrives. My garden is also looking quite ragged. The black eyed Susan's look positively scorched yet when I went downtown yesterday the city's gardens look very lush and healthy. I certainly pays to have paid staff (which I don't have) looking after the gardens. Enjoy the sunshine and heat while it lasts.
ReplyDeleteYes, it won't be long nd we'll complain that it's too cold.
DeleteSummer I don't care for. I'm looking forward to the fall.
ReplyDeleteAnd you probably want a little snow in the fall too!
DeleteI am already seeing bits of colors on the trees and some leaves are falling. I do not like winter and the short days. Take care, have a great day and happy new week!
ReplyDeleteI like winter as long as it stays snowy without rain or ice.
DeleteI like fall. I like the changes, though.
ReplyDeleteFall is kind of gentle . I like the smell of fallen leaves.
DeleteFall is my favorite season, but I do like them all, too. We are seeing the beginning of fall here.
ReplyDeleteGreat leaf color makes fall a favorite.
DeleteYes, fall is arriving here too. The time of equinox are my favorite seasons.
ReplyDeleteYes, equinox is a bit special.
DeleteIt's usually difficult to say goodbye to the warmth of summer, but after this year's heat and dryness I'll be happy to see it go! Dave and I were just saying this morning that it feels a bit autumnal. Our plants have begun to turn, too.
ReplyDeleteWell it is Aug 28 so summer is on it's way out.
DeleteIf you're not ready for fall, come to southeast Pennsylvania where autumn doesn't really begin for about a month. I like October, but could do without November.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to see south west Pennsylvania no matter what the season.
DeleteI think fall is most people's fave season. I wish it wasn't so brief.
ReplyDeleteFall certainly has some pleasant features.
DeleteI'm in no hurry for fall. We are warming up again this week but the nights are cooler and the coolness lingers longer into the day. I like that.
ReplyDeleteI guess we all want some pleasant gentle weather no matter what season it is.
DeleteIt is a bit cooler here too. I hate the loss of light though!
ReplyDeleteI don't mind the loss of light.
DeleteI will like fall this year. And winter!
ReplyDeleteWe have to be prepared for whatever weather comes along.
DeleteI have always liked Fall. The cooler temps and pretty colors are always welcome.
ReplyDeleteWe are seeing signs down here too. The leaves are turning, though that may be because of the hot weather, maybe a bit of both.
ReplyDeleteLast year, we had a beautifully long and mild fall which enabled me to get a lot done. I'm hoping for a repeat this year.
ReplyDeleteWhy does it always take us by surprise? This is always the way.
ReplyDeleteI'm not in a hurry for fall but I do like the season. It's winter that I'm not a fan of.
ReplyDeleteWhat is "fall"? Do you mean autumn?
ReplyDeleteThe first cool days at the end of summer always make me wistful, as I know what's coming eventually. But then I remind myself there will still be hot days in September and sometimes beyond. Like you say, no matter how we feel about it, fall is coming :)
ReplyDeletejenny_o
Never once has a season asked if I was ready for the change. It just marches right in and takes over.
ReplyDeleteI'm not quite ready for fall either. Seems like spring and summer have gone by really fast. Things are looking a little ragged here too.
ReplyDeleteOur winter days spin around 20 to 25 or 30 sometimes though that 30 is far cooler than 30 we experience during hot months weirdly.
ReplyDeleteFall has glory to flourish so we love it inevitably
