Yes folks, today is our 57th anniversary.
The very poor quality photos are from Nov of 1965 when the great decision was made that we would marry. We were married May 21 1966.
My Mom always bugged us about the date of May 22 because her birthday was May 20 so why didn't we get married on her birthday? Anyway Mom would have been 109 yesterday.
Congrats to you both on your anniversary.
ReplyDeleteI would not want my children's wedding days on my birthday.
ReplyDeleteI think she was teasing more than anything else.
DeleteI seemed to have lost my post. But Happy Belated Anniversary anyway. A very handsome couple.
ReplyDeleteThank you. You should see us now! Where did the handsome go?
DeleteHappy anniversary, and happy birthday to your mom as well!
ReplyDeleteThank you. Th numbers are getting big.
DeleteHappy Anniversary!
ReplyDeleteThanks.
DeleteMy parents bugged us about our wedding date of May 15th, right in the middle of planting season even if I reminded them that on that particular year when we married, they finished the week before May 15th!
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary!
Yes, we would get an earful if it was harvest time even though I was teaching.

ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary! My first wife's birthday is May 20th and we exchanged greetings about it yesterday. She said she doesn't want any more birthdays as she just turned 86! But, she said, they just keep coming. And we have good friends who decided to marry while spending a New Year's Eve in our Phoenix home 45 years ago. Their 45th anniversary also was yesterday.
ReplyDeleteYour first wife is right. As Willie Nelson says, "There's nothin I can do about it now!"
DeleteHappy Anniversary!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes to you both! And there you are ... so young, with so many years ahead of you :) A good looking couple, as my dad would have said.
ReplyDeleteHard to believe that we were ever that young.
DeleteCongratulations, Red and Mrs Red!
ReplyDeleteMy Mum and Dad married the day before Mother's Day which is of no consequence except it helps me to remember their anniversary
Same with my Mom's birthday.
DeleteWe are also a May couple, the 17th, and my mother was also a May baby, the 16th.
ReplyDeleteCool! many Canadian teachers took the May long weekend to get married.
DeleteCongratulations and best wishes! Quite a milestone!
