In early Sept. I noticed that a zucchini was becoming a very different shape. It was becoming a 90 degree angle. Apparently the front of the zucchini got stuck on the ground but the zucchini kept on growing. Fruits and vegetables quite often have weird shapes.
Then sometimes the zucchini owners can get bent out of shape. So this particular zucchini owner thought the zucchini would make some kind of collar!
I suspect this is you! Retired teachers are entitled to spend their time messing about with zucchinis (we call them courgettes) -
ReplyDeleteYou're suspicion is correct. Yes, I can be silly.
DeleteHave you hugged your zucchini today? Well, you have, but it's a good question to ask of others. 😊
ReplyDeleteYou could have fun with this one.
DeleteThat would make a strange neck pillow. Take care, have a great day and happy new week!
ReplyDeleteNeck pillow has been mentioned a few times.
DeleteIt is huge!
ReplyDeleteThey are usually eaten when much, much smaller.
DeleteLove that zucchini collar. We grew one like that last year and it never occurred to us to wear it as a collar. LOL! Love these photos.
ReplyDeleteWhen I first saw it it said collar all over it.
DeleteTime to make zucchini bread!
ReplyDeleteWe never thought of that so I'll have to grow zucchini again next year.
DeleteNature's neck collar. :)
ReplyDeleteIt fit well!
DeleteHa! It does look like one of those airline pillows. I'm glad you included the photo of you with it around your neck -- that gives a sense of scale. It's quite large! (The zucchini, not your neck.)
ReplyDeleteMost zucchini are eaten when they are quite small. we stuffed this one.
DeleteHope the micro manager made you some good zuchinni bread!
ReplyDeleteWe didn't make bread. we never thought about it.
DeleteWe are failed zucchini growers this year. Our tall trees have taken away too much of our sun.
ReplyDeleteThe large trees make gardening a challenge.
DeleteWell, by golly, I think when you reach a certain age, if you wish to wear your vegetables around your neck, well, so be it. You do YOU, Red.
ReplyDeleteIt was too good a situation to miss.
DeleteWell I would have said it but since you have . . .
ReplyDeleteYou like the ring to that one!
DeleteOdd. Never have had zucchini.
ReplyDeleteZucchinis are not terribly common.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! That has got to be the biggest (unusual) zucchini I've ever seen. My neighbor used to make the most delicious zucchini bread. Hmmmm.... maybe it's time for me to get some zucchini too.
