Today was just a super day for mid November.
We had heavy snowfall on Oct. 23. I thought ,"This is it. We have snow all winter."
Surprise, Surprise. We've had mild weather since about Oct. 25. Today most of our snow is gone.
We've had a super day with a high of plus 10 C (50 F).
The average high for the month of November is 0 C (32 F) so at 10 C we're well above the average high.
It was chinooking today so it was windy and warm. I did not get a photo of the chinook arch.
The forecast for the next seven days is great with highs above freezing all the time.
In spite of such pleasant weather , I put up my Christmas lights today. So to make my kids happy, I did not climb the ladder (very high) as I put the lights low down on the house.
And I walked at 8 PM and it was most pleasant.
Christmas lights already? Well, if that makes you happy, go for it. Make hay while the sun shines.
ReplyDeleteI put them up but I didn't say I turned them on.
DeleteOh dear, Red. I'm very, very glad you stayed off that ladder. I keep telling Art the same thing. Christmas lights? Accck! I'm not ready. I'm not ready! And snow? Gosh... I rather miss snow, especially when it's hot and humid over here.
ReplyDeleteI was n Mauii once in December and enjoyed the lights without snow or frost. It was nice to see the lights and it was warm.
DeleteYes we are supposed to get your nice weather this week! Thanks for sending it South!
ReplyDeleteWe have 7 days forecast with highs above zero.
DeleteThat is unexpected! But I'm glad you had a wonderful day.
ReplyDeleteI'll take the nice weather when I can get it.
DeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteIt feels good to have the nice weather and get outdoors. Take care, happy Sunday! Have a great week.
Most of our nights are going below 0. Some days warm up to 10; some don't. But our first snows disappeared quickly as well.
ReplyDeleteThat's pretty fair weather for this time of year.
DeleteWhy should you have to do the lights Red? Send Jean up the ladder instead. You can hold it but no mischievous shaking!
ReplyDeleteIt works this way. Sometimes you're better to do the job than listen to all the comments.
DeleteJust a touch of frost here this morning, but generally pretty mild. I usually follow the rule that bans all thoughts of Christmas till the start of December. However there were mince pies on display in our village shop and.......
ReplyDeleteI said I put the lights up but I didn't say I put them on. Lights go on sometime in early December.
DeleteIt's good you got the Christmas lights done while the weather is nice. And I am glad you didn't go up on a high ladder to put them up!
ReplyDeleteYes, sometimes you have to lean over when you're on the ladder and that isn't good.
DeleteYour weather sounds lovely, Red. Enjoy all the warmth and sunshine there. (NewRobin13)
ReplyDeleteI'll enjoy what comes. You've had decent weather the last while.
DeleteEnjoy that "warmth" while it lasts!
ReplyDeleteSounds wonderful! Nothing brightens my day like a forecast of warm weather.. Congratulations on getting the Christmas lights up. Seems everyone is starting earlier than usual this year. Maybe I need to go pull out a few boxes from the shop??
ReplyDeleteIt wsems like decorations go up earlier every year.
DeleteCongrats on the return to good weather AND getting the holiday lights up WITHOUT a ladder. Looks like a good week ahead for you!
ReplyDeleteWe have a great seven day forecast.
DeleteWell, in Canada they just wait until after Thanksgiving. Which happens in October! I am also glad you stayed off that ladder. :-)
ReplyDeleteNow they've stuck in another celebration with lights Halloween.
DeleteOdd weather in many places. We had a few freezing nights but this week has been almost balmy for November anyway. Not sure what to think. We are in kind of a drought with a few wildfires still burning. I expected the fall rains to put them out but there really hasn't been all that much. Wonder if this change is "permanent." Enjoying the sun though while it lasts.
ReplyDeleteWe are going to get strange weather patterns. I don't know why they don't work on the fires in the winter to put them out.
DeleteEnjoy your good weather and glad you got your Christmas lights hung and ready for the season.
ReplyDeleteYes, weather can turn very quickly here.
DeleteSadly no one comes here for Christmas and we live down a long road, so those decorations are long gone.
ReplyDeleteWe are trying to get rid of all our Christmas decorations this year.
DeletePleasant weather here too!
ReplyDeleteWe'll take all the pleasant weather we can get.
DeleteI had an uncle that used to put elaborate Christmas displays on the roof of his house in Minot, North Dakota. He did it well into his senior years until his daughter finally got him to stop.
ReplyDeleteYes the roof top decorations were popular at one time. I guess there aren't enough people allowed to climb ladders anymore.
DeleteGreat temperature! Wish our would warm up and become drier.
ReplyDeleteLovely weather. And the chinook arch is some sight.
ReplyDeleteI always thought you would be warmer than us. We'll have to take what we get.
ReplyDeleteI love today's quote Red. So true. Enjoy the sunshine. Stormy here
ReplyDeletePleasant weather is always a joy and especially when it's unseasonal.
ReplyDeleteMy mum has now banned Dad from climbing ladders, he's had a couple of falls lately and it seems sensible
We have had some snow, but the ground is not yet cold enough for it to stay.
