As most of you know I quite often eat at the local casino. The food is good and the price is right. I don't gamble. As time goes by we've met others who play the same game. Today , one of my former students, who is a senior had lunch with us. Calvin and I filled out the card for the seniors Wednesday draw of $500.00. We have won the senior draw three times so it pays for some meals.
Three weeks ago the Micro Manager won the senior draw. We had also been filling in free rickets for a shopping trip. The shopping spree was worth $500.00 but what I didn't know it that there were 40 smaller prizes with the draw. So after they phoned the micro Manager I got a phone call telling me that I won a set of ear buds.
So now , what do I do with the ear buds. You can't just stick them in your ears and listen to music. Charging has to be done. The case is charged and the case charges the ear buds. So I found that out by trial and error. I had to pair the ear buds with blue tooth. There are voice prompts which I couldn't really hear.
I got the ear buds paired but they kept going off and on. I repaired them. Through that operation I found out that I was putting my fingers over the LEDs and was accidentally turning things off and on.
So once I had all these things sorted out, I was ready to listen to music on you tube.
It takes many mistakes for me to get it right.
Red, I love this post. You had me smiling all the way through. Yes, I got some of those buds a while back, and yes, it did take me a while to get them working correctly and feeling comfortable. And you are so right ... one little touch on the buds ... in the right place! ... does one thing, and a touch or two in another does something else. Congrats on your new buds! John
ReplyDeleteI hear ya! All the colors. Three taps for this and five taps for that. I can't remember that much at one time.
DeleteCongratulations! At least you figured everything out.
ReplyDeleteThanks. I'm really pleased with the quality of sound.
DeleteCongrats on your win! Take care, have a great day!
ReplyDeleteThanks. a great day to you too.
DeleteYou are lucky, Red. And you did work out how to use the ear buds. Well done!
ReplyDeleteLucky and I didn't know it.
DeleteI tried to explain bluetooth to my late grandfather once when I had bought him a pair of headphones that he could connect to his television and listen in the middle of the night without disturbing my late grandmother. Despite repeated lessons over a week, I never could get him to learn the technology so I ended up buying a 20 feet long cable that I strung around the perimeter of his living room and up and over a doorway to reach his television.
ReplyDeleteI felt silly when I realized I was turning it off and on accidentally.
DeleteThat's how it was when I got my new hearing aids. They have blue tooth and so my cell phone speaks right into my hearing aids. If I accidentally touch the top of them, it will disconnect the call. It took awhile to get used to them. Hope you enjoy your ear buds, Red!
ReplyDeleteThey don't tell you that in the manual do they?
DeleteHa, my music or podcast will randomly connect to my husbands office - and while I get silence he "gets" to hear what I was listening to.
ReplyDeleteKey word here is random. But make sure your fingers don't accidentally touch things.
DeleteSue runs into problems charging hers. It is sporadic. I use my hearing aids but have an attached pair for times where they are out, usually when I first go to bed and I am charging the aids.
ReplyDeleteThe manuals don't help , do they!
DeleteMy hat is off to you for persevering and winning!
ReplyDeleteThanks.
DeleteWell done, Red. Now if we need help you'll be able to assist. :)
ReplyDeleteAre you kidding????
DeleteI'm glad you got those ear buds to work for you, and you survived the frustration of your "prize".
ReplyDeleteI guess next time I will feel better about trying something.
DeleteWay to go you figured it out! Congratulations on your win!
ReplyDeleteI like your determination!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! You will love the earbuds. They're so much better than earphones with wires.
ReplyDeleteI have often wondered how those earbuds work. Now your comment about bluetooth solved it for me. I've checked them out a few times on line but I can't see paying the price for them. I guess I'm getting old.
ReplyDeleteOh congrats for wining draw and ear buds dear Red :)
ReplyDeleteNow you can listen music and enjoy
Good to learn it eventually
Nicely done! What a nice treat.
ReplyDeleteLucky you! I have AirPods and absolutely love it. I know you must be loving it too.
