Today we are having our first big dump of snow. One of these strange "bomb" weather patterns have reached the prairies of western Canada and the northwestern states.
So today, right after breakfast I was out shoveling about 5 in of snow. An hour later I was out cleaning up about 1 1/2 in of snow. Then I got lucky. the neighbors adult grandson was at Grandpa's cleaning the snow from the driveway and sidewalk. Later on I noticed my security light come on. When I looked out "said grandson" was cleaning my driveway. I checked and he'd done the neighbors. I checked further and he had also done the long side walk at the side of my house.
I certainly appreciated the grandson's efforts.
So with the new snow, everything looks clean , white and fresh.
That's a good dump of snow and a very nice young man who did all the shovelling.
ReplyDeletewhat a fantastic young man to do that!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your fresh wonderland :)
And today he came again and blew any snow that was left.
DeleteWhat a nice neighbor grandson:) Your snow is way prettier that mine:)
ReplyDeleteMy snow won't be pretty very long.
DeleteWhat a nice thing that young man did for the neighborhood! 5 inches of snow is a lot. Do you see your backyard rabbit in the winter? Has his fur turned white?
ReplyDeleteThere are more rabbits around this year. They are all white so not sure if the odd ball from last year has moved or changed his coat at the proper time.
DeletePretty snowy scene. We had a little bit of snow, which melted already.
ReplyDeleteTake care, enjoy your day and have a happy week ahead.
It's nice at this time of yea but soon gets dirty when sand is spread.
DeleteI hope you gave the adult grandson a toffee or a boiled sweet for his troubles.
ReplyDeleteNo, but he did get a few home made muffins!
DeleteLots of moisture there! That "said grandson" is a snow angel! In your second photo, what is under the bush that makes a circle form in the snow?
ReplyDeleteThe bush is black current and I keep the soil worked up around the base. what you see is the edge of the tilled area. Good eye!
DeleteStill snow-less here. I wouldn't mind some but would then want it to go away for a few more weeks because then it will be with us for the duration.
ReplyDeleteOnce I get snow, I don't like it to melt until spring time.
DeleteWe had snow last week but ours wasn't as deep as yours and melted on the streets and sidewalks. My son who lives with me is my shoveler and he helps out the neighbors with their sidewalks too.
ReplyDeleteYour snow is pretty, Red!
When snow comes I don't like it to melt until spring. Good for your son to help neighbors.
DeleteThe snow is beautiful! And what a fantastic grandson, I love that.
ReplyDeleteThe grandson came back today and blew off more snow that had accumulated.
DeleteHow great to have some help! New snow always looks so nice.
ReplyDeleteI'm old but in good condition. People are very kind to help me even when I'm able to do it myself.
DeleteRed, It’s always uplifting to hear about acts of kindness like your neighbor’s grandson helping out with the shoveling. That kind of thoughtfulness makes winter days feel a little less cold, doesn’t it? And there’s something magical about that first big snowfall—it really does transform the world into a clean, white wonderland. I hope the snow continues to bring beauty and not too much back-breaking work for you. Stay warm and enjoy the fresh winter scenery! ❄️ John
ReplyDeleteSnow soon gets covered with dirt so we'll enjoy it when it's nice. People are very kind and others shovel my snow when I'm not looking.
DeleteIt's beautiful, but I am not ready for that yet. We are still cleaning up leaves and storm debris.
ReplyDeleteYou wouldn't want all that debris to get covered in snow.
DeleteWhat a very nice thing to do.
ReplyDeleteI certainly appreciate those favors.
DeleteIt does look clean and white and beautiful. What a nice thing he did for you and others.
ReplyDeleteSnow doesn't stay that way for long so I will enjoy it.
DeleteYour neighbors have a very lovely grandson. Nice job! (NewRobin13)
ReplyDeleteIt does look lovely but i'm not sure I would do so much shoveling at your age, my friend. I guess you could make that "our age"! 😄
ReplyDeleteThe pictures are so pretty. Looks so white and clean, and cold! We are hoping for snow this winter. We didn't get even a flake last year. What a nice boy to help out the neighbors that way.
ReplyDeleteLovely grandson
ReplyDeleteSnow is so pristine (for a while) and quiet and peaceful. Cleaning up and shoveling snow must keep you young! Not much snow where I live; I've never even owned a snow shovel. One year we got dumped on and to get my car out of the garage, I used a garden rake to get the snow out of the way. :)
ReplyDeleteIt looks beautiful! What a wonderful grandson!
ReplyDeleteone of the most sweet stories i have read :)
ReplyDeleteglad you shared dear Red
beauty of the life and world is only the goodness we share with each other :)
I've always said Canadians are the nicest people. I haven't met a Canadian yet that I didn't totally appreciate. Your neighbor's grandson proves my point.
