This is the photo I wanted when I posted the last photo. There's the tuque and the heavy fur trimmed mitts.
This is late September when we were on the Mackenzie river moving to the shores of the Beaufort sea. We had a fast open boat and water was splashing over the windshield. I don't look very happy as it was miserable and we were tenting over night.
We went back the next day and the river was low so we couldn't find a deep enough channel to get through. It got dark so we slept on the boat. The next morning (Monday) with daylight we easily found a channel and got home around noon. The vice principal was with us so we didn't get into any trouble for being away.
Looks like a Santa hat, cute! Take care, have a great day!
ReplyDeleteThanks. Also a good day to you.
DeleteSanta must have been happy in September with your wearing that tuque.
ReplyDeleteAnd I was even close to the north pole.
DeleteYou look upset indeed in the photo
ReplyDeleteSuch winter hats are popular here specially in northern part
Glad you got daylight and found way back to home easily
It was noisy rough and cold.
DeleteSanta was early that year!
ReplyDeleteWell, the hat was early!
DeleteI still would have worried about your ears getting frozen! You've had some wild adventures, Red! Amazing you have lived to tell about them!
ReplyDeleteFor this photo , it was above zero.
DeleteYou look good wearing a Santa hat.
ReplyDeleteWell, as long as you didn't get into trouble for being late :) That must have been quite a trip.
ReplyDeleteWhat an adventure sleeping on the boat!
ReplyDeleteAnd now we know that the Santa Hat is modelled on the Tuque.
ReplyDeleteWhat a life you've had!
Red, you don’t look happy, that’s for sure. Wow, those mitts are amazing! What year would this have been? Always nice to have a VP along. 😊 John
ReplyDeleteHmmm... That does look like a Santa hat. I looked up tuque and it says it's a Canadian word for stocking hat. It kinda sounds French.
