The recreation dept supplies donuts and we bring potluck goodies.
People are excited to see one another . The old skating enthusiasm is still there.
Lots of good eats |
Retired lady skaters |
Retired male skaters. The guy across the table is 93 and skated until he was 92. |
The last of the pair skaters. Jerry is 88. |
I envy you this activity, Red. It looks like a fun group and a fun thing to do - not to mention really good exercise.

DeleteTo be fair there are many excellent activities out there.
I can barely skate, roller or ice
ReplyDeleteWell, at least you tried it.
DeleteThis looks like so much fun! What a terrific get together and it's great exercise too.
ReplyDeleteIt is fun and the group is awesome.
DeleteThis is definitely an up north activity. Ice Skating is not so common in most of our states.
ReplyDeleteWe have good access to arenas so it makes skating easily available.
DeleteThis is so nice to see that everybody is still enjoying the skating. Great photos. Life of a retired person isn't so bad isn't it?
ReplyDeleteLife for a retired person is awesome but I do think of those retirees who are limited with health issues.
DeleteI admire this group
ReplyDeleteWe're fun!
Deletejust.so.awesome! bless every one of you for being so active!
ReplyDeleteThankyou. It's one of those groups that pull you along.
DeleteWhat a great event! And a fun way to spend time.
ReplyDeleteThese groups are very supportive.
DeleteI'm impressed. I've never even stepped into a pair of ice skates.
ReplyDeleteBur you're probably pretty handy in a pair of basketball shoes. I never saw a basketball until I was 18!
DeleteIt sounds like you enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteI've never learned!
There are many other good things today in this world.
DeleteBoy if I had a nearby skating rink I just might try that again! I used to love ice skating. I would have to tape my ankles up pretty tight though! How fun that you all get together and celebrate good times like that.
ReplyDeleteWE have arenas available so it's much pleasanter.
DeleteI haven't skated since I was 16. I doubt I'd have the courage to start again. It's good to sit down with people of like mind though isn't it?
ReplyDeleteThese gatherings are full of excitement. People are genuinely happy to see each other.
DeleteThe skater who is 93 -- he can't be! He certainly proves what good exercise skating is.
ReplyDeleteWell, considering the ages of those other skaters, you've got a long time ahead to keep those blades in good working order, Red. Love the pictures, and I enjoy this every year from my little corner of the world. :-)
ReplyDeleteI hope I get to skate a long time. This group is very much like your walkers or hikers.
DeleteImpressive to say the least, this coming from someone who doesn't skate. I tried but couldn't stand straight up on those blades :(
ReplyDeleteWell your mind plays tricks on you about the blades!
DeleteYou have such fun!!!! I'm so bad in groups...
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great spread of food for a great group of people! :)
ReplyDeleteI never could ice skate. I'm terrible at it. But then, I grew up in Florida!
ReplyDeleteMy parents loved to couples skate. I, on the other hand had weak ankles, didn't like the winter cold and took up basketball as a youth...:)
ReplyDeleteKinda regret it now coz I never learnt to skate.
ReplyDeleteAs I think I said last year, it is good that you guys keep moving the way you eat!!
ReplyDeleteHi Red, Nice to see the skaters reunion. Seems like good timing to enjoy this in December.
