Skaters Christmas

Each year we have a special lunch at skating and invite retired skaters to attend. We enjoy seeing retired skaters and the retired skater love to visit with each other.

The recreation dept supplies donuts and we bring potluck goodies.

People are excited to see one another . The old skating enthusiasm is still there.

Lots of good eats

Retired lady skaters

Retired male skaters. The guy across the table is 93 and skated until he was 92.

Skater Christmas Party

Every year our senior skating group has a Christmas party. We shame the recreation dept. into supplying donuts and then most skaters bring food. Without any organization we have great variety of sandwiches, cheese  and   all the fancy Christmas goodies you could wish for.

We contact  as many former skaters as we can find.

So after the Friday skate we are ready to have a good time. Former skaters are always excited to get together. It gets pretty noisy as people great one another and visit.

We get ready

Really steppin' out

On the bench when the ice is resurfaced

this is what we came for

You've gotta be careful to get all the good stuff

Good times

What Do Old Skaters Do at Christmas?

Well, old skaters have a party at Christmas! I have posted often about my pleasure from skating. I have emphasized how supportive the group is. So in mid December we invite all former skaters and their spouses to the rink and we have a sumptuous lunch. with all kinds of home baked goodies. the Rec Department remembers us with donuts. But most of all we are very excited to see everybody and have a visit.

The tough job of getting skates on in the dressing room.

Some fancy skating!
Here they are again!
So many decisions!

A great table of goodies!

Now I almost feel like I should rename my blog "Snow and Ice" but this group is a very warm one.
