We have had lots of snow falls but none of them have been heavy deep snows. We've had some heavy wet snow which is difficult to shovel as it is very heavy. Then it doesn't fall off your shovel like it should. I don't mind shoveling light dry snow. It's light and you can easily move it away from walks or drive ways.
Now I can handle snow shoveling. I might be bit slow but I get there. Yesterday we were lucky and looked out the window to find Brandie, from across the street, shoveling our side walk.
Now from time to time the micro manager says she would like to get some fresh air and she goes out to shovel snow. She does an excellent job and the walks are clean after she's finished.
Now the micro snow shoveller doesn't like photos taken of her. This photo is not flattering. However. she does very well at 4' 10" and more than 80 to shovel all the snow sometimes.
She has had the winter cap for about 25 years. She got it in her cross country ski days.
Wow! The micro snow shoveller does much better than I do. I haven't had to shovel snow since I was very young so am totally unprepared for it now.
ReplyDeleteShe's pretty spunky about snow shovelling as long as it's within reason.
DeleteThat's one impressive snow shoveller. Flattering photo or not, your micro manager certainly does not look 80+.
ReplyDeleteShe will be glad to hear that.
DeleteThe Micro Shoveller is worth her weight in gold when it comes to shovelling snow. Snow shovelling is something that never happens where I live.
ReplyDeleteAlphie
We are used to snow shovelling whether we like it or not.
DeleteI guess that when The Mighty Micro Manager was out there working in the snow, you were warm inside watching television in your slippers - like a modern day slave master.
ReplyDeleteThis boy is anything but a modern say slave master. I waited until she was outside so I could get my photos!
DeleteDoesn't she has a regular first name except her "professional one" by you?
ReplyDeleteShe has a first name that she asked to not have on the blog.
DeleteWhat a blessing good neighbours are, and you are fortunate to have the micro shoveller so willing to help. I have a neighbour a couple of doors up with a snow blower and the odd time he will do my sidewalk for me. It seems that I don't mind clearing the snow at this stage of the winter, but it is a different story by the end of February,
ReplyDeleteYes, the end of Feb. can be brutal.
Delete...we recently received 12" of wet snow, I hope that it melts soon!
ReplyDeleteWell I don't feel so bad about my wet snow.
DeleteI have outgrown my desire to shovel snow and theere are no neighborhood boys nearby. The only offer we had was last year when the snow was mostly melted and he just wanted soem drug moeey!
ReplyDeleteYes, I know there's a time coming when my shovelling days will be over.
DeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteKudos to the micro snow shoveler. She looks warm. Wishing you a happy day!
She feels the cold so that's why she's well dressed up.
DeleteIt is tough when it sticks to the shovel. We had a chunk stuck in the snowblower, too. Ever onward!
ReplyDeleteYou get much more wet snow than we do.
DeleteThe Micro Manager seems to be a formidable lady. One to be much admired.
ReplyDeleteShe does alright for her age.
DeleteGood for her! I think she looks pretty darn good myself. I'm glad our snow is saying in the High Country and not down here. Yet. :-)
ReplyDeleteShe does help with snow when it's needed.
DeleteNice to have that kind shoveler come by and do that heavy snow shoveling.
ReplyDeleteWe are most fortunate.
DeleteI'm sure it's a great way to get an aerobic workout!
ReplyDeleteYou've got that right.
DeleteSmall but mighty! Kudos to the Micro Shoveller - use it or lose it, as they say.
ReplyDeleteMy husband has a Russian style hat for snow shovelling passed down to him from his father who received it when he worked for the post office. it has fake fur earflaps that can be pulled down or folded up. Very warm :)
I'll bet that's warm.
DeleteGood for her. She looks pretty warm to me for the action lady. I like the hat. Her boots smart wear. Lets face it. Who likes there picture taken . Most ladies dont I know.
ReplyDeleteShe feels the cold so dresses up to keep warm.
DeleteNice to have wonderful neighbor. The micro manager is a strong woman to have on your side.
ReplyDeleteI've had others clean my sidewalks , but I've also shovelled for other people.
DeleteGood for her, 80, 4’ 10” and still throwing snow! It must be the cozy, well-trained hat that gives her her power.
ReplyDeleteThe cap was one of the best things she ever bought for keeping warm in the winter.
DeleteHi to the MM! Good for her for getting out and shoveling at 80.
ReplyDeleteYes, we know about heavy, wet snow. That's the only kind we get.
We don't get much wet snow but I guess that's why we don't like it.
DeleteI never believed in shoveling but then I almost always lived in the country and the dogs would make a path. I had 4 wheel drive and that was good enough for me! LOL! Shoveling snow was to me like drying dishes...a waste of time but I realize in town that you are required to keep your sidewalks clean. Here in AR we get little snow and it is gone by noon if we do and we have no sidewalka to shovel anyway! LOL!
ReplyDeleteThe Micro Shoveler is my role model! She's amazing!
That is awesome work on her part! I hope I'm just as mighty when I reach that age.
ReplyDeleteGood for your micro manager!
ReplyDeleteYeah for women shoveling...I don't mind it as long as the snow is light...I take lots of breaks!
ReplyDeletelucky you and she appears to be a self starter too!!!
ReplyDeleteShe is certainly spunky and strong. I do remember what shoveling was like. I don't think my back could take it anymore.
ReplyDeleteyes, I can remember our shoveling days which are all behind us now that we are apt dwellers. The micro manager looks as one would expect after such hard work. Kudos to her!
