MORE AGES AND STAGES

A few posts ago I thought about how I'm in my eighties with some great ancestors. I had photos of my Dad on his 80th birthday, and my Grandpa when he was about 84.

I also said that I would like to get the three of us in one photo but I didn't know how to do that. My friend , Bill saw this and couldn't resist so sent me a photo of the three of us in one photo. It's done by melding. Then I found a photo of another guy...my great Grandfather.

So here is the first meld.

Then I thought , I wonder if Bill would put the four of us together.

So here we are! Great Grandpa is on the right at about 84. It is difficult to meld there are four different types of technology in making these photos.

So next I will do some short biographies .

  1. I think that is impressive to be able to meld photos in that way. Bill did a great job.

    1. Like everything...there's an app for it. I'm pretty slow when it comes to apps.

    1. Mind boggling what you can do with photos these days.

  3. When I see people next to each other like that I'm always amazed how alike many of our ancestors look and how like us they often look! I guess, obviously, in life we don't get to see different generations all at the same age.

  5. Well done Bill! Together the four guys look like a boy band. Can Bill create the illusion of them singing together? Perhaps the Canadian national anthem:
God keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

  12. Isn't that cool! I think you look most like your Grandfather. I am surprised that your Great-Grandpa had so much dark hair - do you think he colored it?!

    1. No coloring in those days. His grandchildren always talked about him having no gray hair and he also had lost very little hair.

  13. I was reading your post from a few days ago. I didn't realize your wife was a nurse. I took my training in Red Deer and my sister was a nurse in the seventies in Red Deer. Small world indeed. My sister worked on the ortho unit as did my son's grandma.

I love the old photos. I have a photo of my father with his three brothers from the 1920s. It is a treasured photo.

    1. My wife worked very little in Red Deer. She was one of those stay at home Moms who never went back to work.
