First, I notice that I haven't posted since Dec. 16. I'm slipping up on the job. I've been busy and it's hard to keep up with reading your posts. I'm hoping the New Year will start out better. The micro Manager is in recuperation mode so I have to look after most things right now.
Two posts ago in my title I had Meryy. Yes, it was a typo but it was a typo that I didn't catch. It's interesting that with such a glaring error, some people jumped on it and told me. Others made a rather mild comment. Most didn't comment. I would think most readers saw it and a very few didn't notice it.
In my last post I covered the issue of type size and it surprised me how many comments the junky little post got. It was loud and clear that the blue color I use was hard to read. I was also surprised that it wasn't just me who found color font and size made some blogs difficult to read.
So right away I decided to change the color. It should be easy? Well what I thought was easy may have been easy but not for me. I spent quite a few hours trying to find out how to change print color. I still haven't got my title cover changed.
So how many people find this color easier to read?
Well, how about that. I didn't get my print changed color! Maybe next time.
Now I'm really messin with your minds. I've done my color change again. I think I got it this time.
I'm fine with it.
ReplyDeleteI made an error or two in comment spelling this morning.
I think most bloggers are somewhat informal so the odd typo here and there is fine.
DeleteHi Keith,
ReplyDeleteI just did screenshots to show you how to change font colour but I lost them. Maybe some text instructions will work for you.
Go to your dashboard (the list of posts where you go to start a new post)
Click "theme" it's on the left
Click "customise" almost centre of screen
on the left side of screen, scroll down to click "advanced"
scroll down to find "text colour"
choose your colour
click on the floppy disk save icon at the bottom right corner
Cross your fingers :)
The icon on the bottom right was stumping me until yesterday. It was small and I never looked at it. You have nice step by step directions. Why doesn't Mr Blogger have concise directions.
DeleteThis is a great colour!
ReplyDeleteThanks.
DeleteHey Great! It's like a very dark tan. Is that brown? Thank you so much! Now I can read your wise words with ease! Hooray! (You are much further advanced than I to have figured out how to do all of that.) Linda in Kansas
ReplyDeleteThere's a wonderful book called Blogging for Dummies. That's what I started with and it was very helpful.
DeleteStill don't like it, but it is better, I guess.
ReplyDeleteI probably didn't notice meryy. I tend to insert my own words anyway. By that I mean that I tend to subconsciously correct.
I know that I could never find something to suit all readers. I subconsciously make up the odd new word!
DeleteYour text size and color are looking good for me. Take care, have a great day! Merry Christmas to you and your family!
ReplyDeleteThanks. Have a good Christmas.
DeleteIf the first letter in the word is correct, we tend to fill in the rest. I didn’t notice it.
ReplyDeleteI like the red print and size.
I tend to look for positives .
DeleteI notice meryy but didn't say anything because I knew exactly what you meant. I like this color very much!
ReplyDeleteYou were in editing so you are tuned in to finding errors.
DeleteI can read your posts no matter the color or size so choose what you like! Hope your micro-manager is feeling fine. I noticed the typo but didn't think it mattered as I knew what you meant! :)
ReplyDeleteMost people have a wide level of things they find acceptable.
DeleteI think the font color is fine. I can easily read it.
ReplyDeleteI did notice the Meryy misspelling, but didn't mention it. I figured you were very busy trying to change so many things.
I admit that I'm careless when it comes to seeing corrections.
DeleteThe font colour is a great improvement, I have no problem reading it. I saw Mervy too and smiled , I knew what you meant. Have a happy and peaceful Christmas.
ReplyDeleteBloggers are a very laid back bunch and a little error doesn't bother them. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
DeleteMuch better ... but I like the color of the type in your last post even more.
ReplyDeleteI will go back and look at that color but then I might lose this one!
Delete...if people complain about my many typos, they are welcome to be my proofreader. The pay isn't great, but you can stay busy!
ReplyDeleteGood way to look at it. We write and blog for a hobby.
DeleteI think this is easier than the blue, though I never had too much trouble with it!
ReplyDeleteWhen I look at the blue again , it was quite dull.
DeleteWell, no, not red! Black is good.:-)
ReplyDeleteI hear ya!
DeleteWow had a health problem and am glad that I can now type again. I don't always hit all the keys or I touch them and don't push down. I really am too lazy some days or busy to really proof things so maybe the next day I do see glaring errors in my title. I will still read you post without criticism, ever!!
ReplyDeleteWe're in blogging for fun and enjoyment.
DeleteThis is definitely better than blue. Noticed Meryy but didn't comment.
ReplyDeleteThanks. Meryy is something I should have caught!
ReplyDeleteI noticed it as well, but saw no reason to mention it. Sometimes, I trip over my fingers when I'm typing as well. Merry Christmas to you and yours, Red!
ReplyDeletehope you are taking good care of the micro manager. Your font size and color are good now:0
ReplyDeleteI realize that years ago I had to be careful with photo file size as some people could not get the page refreshed. When I add photos the font that follows may change. It is hard to read some fonts and sizes unless you have a large screen and not just a small laptop. Typos I ignore since most of us do not get paid for our typed thoughts.
ReplyDeleteI don't worry about typos. Heck, I make plenty of them myself. The way I'm looking at it is that I'm not publishing things for posterity, I'm just letting thoughts flow and when I start worrying about typos, it stifles the flow.
ReplyDeleteRed is definitely better than blue but to me, black is the gold standard.
I make errors all the time and I don't find them until after people have already come to my blog and read the post. Problem is we're several hours behind you all so you see my blog when I'm still sleeping. I like your font color change. It is easier for my aging eyes to see.
ReplyDeletei loved blue it was comforting to my eyes but i must admit the red is easier to read so i am okay with change :)
ReplyDeletei find blog reading with dark black background most specially when writing is thin too ,i remember in far past of my blogging left few blogs only because it was hard to read them .blessings!
