For the next seven days we have a nasty weather forecast.
On five of the next seven days we have snow in the forecast. Now I don't really mind snow.
Now the highs for the next seven days aren't nice . Here they are. Keep in mind that these are highs. Did I say that before.
Dec . 17 minus 15 (6 F)
Dec. 18 minus 20 (minus 4 F)
Dec. 19 minus 24 (minus 6 F)
Dec. 20 minus 28 (minus 20 F)
Dec. 21 minus 29 (minus 21 F)
Dec.22 minus 22 (minus 8)
Dec. 23 Minus 14 (4 F)
Now the usual questions that are asked about these temperatures.
They are not close to record lows. It is normal get this cold but not often.
We get used to these temperatures and go about our business.
North American has had some brutal weather in December.
We're about twenty four hours now into a snowstorm, but it should be letting up soon.
ReplyDelete... and you like snow.
DeleteScotland is doing the same as you...glad we are away from home, even if it is unusually wet here in Whanganui at the moment!!
ReplyDeleteBut you like being in the southern hemisphere when summer is coming.
Delete-21 degrees F? OMG! I don't think we ever hit that when we lived in Chicago. Good grief! And here we were telling mom it's going to be 65 degrees F in the evening next week so she needs a thicker blanket ready.
ReplyDeleteIt probably didn't get that cold in Chicago. My daughter lives in La Grange and she hasn't told me about very cold temps.
DeleteThat's too cold! I'll take our predicted zero F coming next week in Kansas. Linda
ReplyDeleteIt all depends if you get a wind with the cold.
DeleteWe have had a cold spell here in The Yorkshire Dales - but reading your forecast makes me feel a bit better! Kep snug and warm.
ReplyDeleteSome of us elderly folks suffer when it gets this cold.
DeleteThe Lord sends harsh weather to punish sinners. Repent and ye will live in eternal springtime, walking through clover. Seriously though, you have to be tough to be an Albertan in mid-winter.
ReplyDeleteYou don't have to be tough, just smart. Dress properly and you're ok.
DeleteYouve just sent me to look at the long range forecast: not too cold or snowy, it seems — at least not once were past this weekend’s dumping.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you will get seven days of decent weather.
DeleteI remember that first winter I spent up north, which isn't nearly as north as you, I thought my teeth would crack from the cold every time I went out in those sorts of temperatures.
ReplyDeleteStay warm, it's sunny and raining here with all of our snow gone now.
ReplyDeleteI will dress properly and keep warm.
DeleteBrutal weather indeed. Britain has much to thank the Gulf Stream for.
ReplyDeleteThis stuff came straight out of the Arctic.
DeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteWe are supposed to have super cold temps at the end of the coming week, starting just days before Christmas. Take care, stay warm! Have a great weekend.
Well, you always wanted a white Christmas!
DeleteIt looks so incredibly cold! Stay bundled up and inside, Red,
ReplyDeleteI know how to dress to keep warm. Don't worry.
DeleteLuckily, you know what to do to stay warm, Red! You have spent many years in very cold areas!
ReplyDeleteMy old bones feel colder these days!!
With the proper clothing it's ok
DeleteIt has been surprisingly cold here too with temps every morning below freezing. Do you have clear skies there? The winter cold temps are often times of clear skies here on the California north coast. (NewRobin13)
ReplyDeleteNo clear skies. We had about 5 cm of snow last night.
DeleteIt must be hard to keep the house warm in those temperatures.
ReplyDeleteThe old furnace runs quite often and the house is warm.
DeleteUgh! I'm pretty sure we've been colder than normal here in the UK as well, but not THAT cold.
ReplyDeleteYour problem there is the damp air. It makes things feel much colder.
DeleteI agree that regular revisiting of extreme weather make us get used to it. This is first winter of my life that is mild like spring. Our sweaters are still in closet
ReplyDeleteYes, you're probably wearing shorts and tshirts unless you have some other way to cool off.
DeleteI couldn’t agree more! For us it’s cloud and wind.
ReplyDeleteYou're right out there with noting to stop the wind. It's much like the flat open prairies.
DeleteI don't like the Red Deer Forecast, but having said that, I don't like the one for Seattle either. The only positive thing I can think of ... these kind winter days make me appreciate the more comfortable days the rest of the year.
ReplyDeleteYou get this cold and when it warms up it feels pretty good.
DeleteI especially like forecasts that don't come true.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a good pair of mittens!
ReplyDeleteWe're not that cold, but it is a mess out there.
