THE WEATHER IS STILL INTERESTING.

Today we had another typical winter day. The high was minus 22 C. When I woke up this morning it was minus 24. There was a light wind but when it's minus 22 it will feel cold. There was a few centimeters of snow so guess what. I had to shovel.

So in the morning I did my driveway and front side walk as well as my neighbors sidewalk. After lunch I did my west side walk.

So now  at 8:05 PM it's snowing again. I'll be ready again to shovel.

Today I did get some photos through the window. It shows how dull it is at this time of year as the sun is low down in the sky.

                               Before shoveling

                                 After shoveling

This shows a snow cornice off the roof of my house. The wind blows and the snow drifts over the edge and gradually the snow sticks out over the edge of the roof. You are looking up in this photo.

  1. If shovelling snow was a Winter Olympic event, Albertan competitors would be sure to sweep up all the medals. At least it keeps you from under Jean's feet for a while.

    1. the heavy snow falls are in Ontario and the norther BC coast. We don't have anything to brag about as far a snow is concerned.

  3. Your back is older than my back but in much better shape. The little bit that I have to do that the plow won’t is more then enough.

  7. We hardly ever see snow here, maybe a rare dusting for a short time in the early morning. We see it on the mountains sometimes. Your photos are beautiful and not dull at all. I like snow, but I guess that's because I never have to deal with it. (NewRobin13)

    1. I don't mind snow. I've skied and hiked in the snow so I have nothing to complain about.

  8. Ah it seems that the USA is getting all of that snow these days. Glad I am not in that part of the US. I no longer feel like shoveling snow for hours on end.

    1. I shovel often and then it's easier. Don't worry . I'm not hard done by and very fortunate to be able to do it.

  12. I always loved shovelling or blowing snow. I remember huge three foot cornices hanging off our roof.

  14. Oh Red, it looks so cold there and here I'm worried about the winter storm headed our way. It sure looks pretty there, but cold! Merry Christmas to you and your wife. Oh, I love what you said about spring in a comment above.

  15. You certainly do get your shovelling in. We've actually had a big dump of snow over the past few days and it is very cold for Vancouver. I went out tonight without my hat and gloves (they were in my bag) and my hands and tips of the ears were very cold. Thankfully I didn't have to walk too far. Keep warm.

  17. shoveling must be quite a task dear Red ,we had snow only once in my life time back in my town but next day it took hours to mom to clear it from roof and yard all by herself
