Today we had another typical winter day. The high was minus 22 C. When I woke up this morning it was minus 24. There was a light wind but when it's minus 22 it will feel cold. There was a few centimeters of snow so guess what. I had to shovel.
So in the morning I did my driveway and front side walk as well as my neighbors sidewalk. After lunch I did my west side walk.
So now at 8:05 PM it's snowing again. I'll be ready again to shovel.
Today I did get some photos through the window. It shows how dull it is at this time of year as the sun is low down in the sky.
Before shoveling
If shovelling snow was a Winter Olympic event, Albertan competitors would be sure to sweep up all the medals. At least it keeps you from under Jean's feet for a while.
ReplyDeletethe heavy snow falls are in Ontario and the norther BC coast. We don't have anything to brag about as far a snow is concerned.
DeleteThe snow is pretty to look at in photos, I really wish I could skip the winter time. Let's go right to Spring. Take care, have a great day and happy new week!
ReplyDeleteOh I know. winter can be very unpleasant but that's what makes spring so pleasant.
DeleteYou know, Red, I think this is my favorite thing you've ever said.
DeleteYour back is older than my back but in much better shape. The little bit that I have to do that the plow won’t is more then enough.
ReplyDeleteI'm fortunate to be this healthy.
DeleteStay warm over there! Brrrr…Merry Christmas, Red!
ReplyDeleteI will stay warm. I just have to remember to put on the proper layers of clothing.
DeleteThanks for the greeting.
Brrr! Makes me cold looking at it! We are supposed to get ice on Wednesday evening and snow on Thursday but hopefully no bad weather for the Christmas weekend. Wishing all safe travels wherever you are!
ReplyDeleteThis cold spell lets up before Christmas.
DeleteStill too cold! Our snow is just melting.
ReplyDeleteCold for you is like the heat for me.
DeleteA proverbial world of white.
ReplyDelete... and you like snow.
DeleteWe hardly ever see snow here, maybe a rare dusting for a short time in the early morning. We see it on the mountains sometimes. Your photos are beautiful and not dull at all. I like snow, but I guess that's because I never have to deal with it. (NewRobin13)
ReplyDeleteI don't mind snow. I've skied and hiked in the snow so I have nothing to complain about.
DeleteAh it seems that the USA is getting all of that snow these days. Glad I am not in that part of the US. I no longer feel like shoveling snow for hours on end.
ReplyDeleteWhen you get snow it's wet and heavy and plentiful. It's not nice snow.
DeleteOur snow is long gone. It looks very cold at your place, stay warm.
ReplyDeleteIt's cold but we dress in layers and keep warm.
DeleteLooks like winter! A foot overnight here.
ReplyDeleteYou guys have a big load of snow.
DeleteThat's a lot of snow to be shoveling dear man. May your winter be light and short.
ReplyDeleteI shovel often and then it's easier. Don't worry . I'm not hard done by and very fortunate to be able to do it.
DeleteI always loved shovelling or blowing snow. I remember huge three foot cornices hanging off our roof.
ReplyDeleteOh boy Red, that’s a lot of shoveling. Good luck with all that snow.
ReplyDeleteStay warm somehow!
ReplyDeleteOh Red, it looks so cold there and here I'm worried about the winter storm headed our way. It sure looks pretty there, but cold! Merry Christmas to you and your wife. Oh, I love what you said about spring in a comment above.
ReplyDeleteYou certainly do get your shovelling in. We've actually had a big dump of snow over the past few days and it is very cold for Vancouver. I went out tonight without my hat and gloves (they were in my bag) and my hands and tips of the ears were very cold. Thankfully I didn't have to walk too far. Keep warm.
ReplyDeleteHoly smokes! That's -7 degrees F. Yikes!
ReplyDeleteshoveling must be quite a task dear Red ,we had snow only once in my life time back in my town but next day it took hours to mom to clear it from roof and yard all by herself
