I've had a number of weather related topics lately. so here goes another one which is related to past posts.
Yesterday , Dec. 4 it was chinooking here. We had a strong steady west wind and a minus 1 C temperature all day. When the sun sets the wind stops. There was no chinook arch but it would have been farther west toward the Rocky mountains.
Today we had 2 cm of snow. Just enough to shovel and tomorrow morning is will be minus 29 C (20 below F). At one time minus 29 C would not have been a problem but at this age I'm staying home.
So there's my weather report and now you can compare it to yours.
In the forties. Sunny. No wind to speak of. What is a chinook arch??? Now I've got something else to read about. The things I learn on blogs.
ReplyDeleteI have this in a previous blog but it's probably a good idea to look it up.
DeleteYes, I like this. From the beginning with Hiawatha House, one of the thing’s I’ve enjoyed is seeing what’s going on in Red Deer, Alberta. You do a good job of keeping us posted on that. By the way, congrats on stepping up the pace on posting. I’m enjoying it. Lastly, as I’m typing this, it’s 37F (2.7C) in Seattle. Our forecast for the next few days calls for temps right around freezing so right on the edge for possible snow if we get the moisture.
ReplyDeleteYour high humidity makes things feel colder.
DeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteI am not ready for snow just yet. We are supposed to have a rainy week, I hope the temperatures are warm enough it just rain. Take care, enjoy your day!
Yes, one or the other but not both.
DeleteI saw those temperatures on our weather report. I don't like the wild fluctuations in temperature. It is unsettling. We've rain on the way.
ReplyDeleteYes, gradual changes but it ain't gonna happen.
DeleteIt’s 4 and sunny without wind here today. We are headed for a walk and a picnic. I would be home too in that -29, Red.
ReplyDeleteIt's always nice when there's little or no wind.
DeleteThe deep cold of winter.
ReplyDeleteAnd snow just for you.
DeleteWe have a chance of snow but it has warmed up considerably since last week. :-)
ReplyDeleteSnow is not a good idea in Bellingham. Snow above you is fine.
DeleteOh, Red, you can keep your cold and snow up North there for awhile. I am not ready for it yet! :)
ReplyDeleteWhatever happens will happen. We seem to be getting lots of snow in the early part of winter.
DeleteThose are really low cold temperatures there. Yes, stay home and stay warm. It was literally freezing here this morning, but nothing like your cold temps. (NewRobin13)
ReplyDeleteThese temperatures are quite normal for this time of year.
DeleteWe are at -2 right now which isn't bad at all. Will be colder tonight and tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteMinus 2 would seem pretty good right now.
DeleteStay warm! Cold here too I think you sent your weather this way:)
ReplyDeleteWell, I told you it was on it's way. It warmed up here today so maybe in 2 or 3 days you'll warm up.
DeleteMid forties. Nice for walking with adequate jacket.
ReplyDeleteI'd take mid forties right now.
DeleteOh wow, not as cold as you. It is rainy but 16 deg. C. and raining all day. Stay warm!
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't like the all day rain.
DeleteIt is mild and foggy in the onions gloom. (Not onions but morning, but I decided to lave it there for fun.)
ReplyDeleteOkay, you sure had my puzzler puzzling on that one.
DeleteRainy day, in the 40s, here in the eastern U.S.
ReplyDeleteA damp cold is not nice.
DeleteWet and coolish here, but as I age, I have no desire to drive in snow or on ice!
ReplyDelete-20 degrees F???
ReplyDeleteAck! It was 75 degrees F here in Hawaii and I put on a light jacket.
Damp cold is not fun.
