GOOGLE CHROME

By  now you will be tired of my whining about computer problems. You will be saying, "Red , go out and buy a new computer." That is in the works.

But I'm going to tell you my story with Google Chrome.

Four or five days ago google chrome disappeared on me. I tried a few amateurish methods to get it back. Nothing happened.

So then I'm off to my "go to guy", my son. He told me to install chrome again but, look and see if chrome is still on my computer. I couldn't find google chrome on my machine so I installed. It didn't work. So I've cussed and swore for a few days.

So this morning I said I'm going to fix google chrome or bust. I looked at how to uninstall and sure enough google chrome was there . So I uninstalled google chrome and then installed google chrome.

There are a few wrinkles to iron out such as sound and camera.

It improves life a great deal once you get your computer back in business.

  1. It is surprising how many things respond well to "turn it off then turn it back on"!!

  2. I get very frustrated when computer issues come up. Even if I'm able to solve them the problem takes times to fix and in the meantime you are left without access to the internet. It goes to show how much we have to rely on technology even when we don't want to. I'm glad you got your issue resolved.

  10. A wise man once told me that the majority of computer problems are caused by a loose nut behind the keyboard.

  11. It worries me sometimes how much I am dependent on technology now. With the crazy things going on here, I worry that someone could just shut us down and we would lose our ability to communicate or power our homes or get our bills done online, etc., etc.

    1. A new computer will be great but it will not solve all problems as there will still be the same operator.

  15. Oh the sounds familiar. It's been some years back now, but I remember going through that aggravating process and the good feeling when I finally won the battle.

  20. I'm glad you could get the problem fixed, Red. I am hopeless with computer problems. Thank goodness my son is close at hand. Although, he has told me he just Googles for a solution most of the time! What irks me most is when the computer does a mandatory update and then suddenly things that used to work no longer do.
